Can't travel?

What is everyone's accepted definition of "can't travel"?

To me this means I can't go any great distance from my local town.

Some people seem to think it means I can't set foot outside my door?

Is that what can't travel implies?

It's anoth one of those personal interpretations... I generally accept it as limited travel within the immediate area.

I take can't travel as them having to use public transport.

Some people use public transport and local hotels. There you go.....can't travel can't accommodate problem solved.

I don't drive but can still travel. If I liked someone enough I'd take the train. In addition to that I'd take a taxi reasonable distances.

So yes, it is personal interpretation.

I agree with 'not travel too far/ out of town'.

Easier to make it clear in profile.

I have a really close friend on here (in every sense as she also lives 400yds away). Her profile states can travel....but in text she states she won't travel over half an hour or so...due to work etc.

She still gets idiots from Scotland and Yorkshire, Essex etc contacting her though.

Can't travel to me means I won't go to Scotland for a shag.

I have can't travel or accommodate on the profile, I also have I only do club meets written on it several times, I still get asked how do I plan to meet then!

Varies from one to the other - I've had messages where they demand a hotel, others have stated "you come to me", etc.

"I have the pussy - I make the rules" is the phrase that springs to mind.

Obviously thats not directed at anyone in here - I've never had anything like that from the usual suspects.

See? I am even getting it on this thread "how do you expect to meet people?".

Lol

I am guessing the guys who message me don't read my profile then.

I drive. I just can't be far from home. Local hotels are fine! As are local guys who can accommodate.

Should I change it to "can travel"? I dunno.

"But if I'm paying for the hotel,.. lol". But in all seriousness, there was a girl who would only meet in the Ritz (the guy paid) and no other hotels she deemed of "lower standard" (Travelodge / Premier Inn / Holiday Inn / Roomzzz all ruled out then). I just thought "See ya!!!!!!"

To me, "Can't travel" doesn't mean someone who relies on public transport. I don't drive but I am happy to get on a train or coach for a good meet and have on several occasions...or if it's convenient my wife might drive me there.

I would say "Can't travel" means someone is unable or unwilling to travel far out of their own town/borough. Some people are specifically looking for local fun.

Some ARE NOT looking for local fun but will only play with those who are not local and expect them to go to them

Can't travel can't accomodate doesn't put me off chatting to someone, after all if there is a spark then travel/accommodation can easily be discussed to see whats suitable for both parties.

its only an issue if you make it.

True enough. There are several reasons why someone might write "Can't travel" and that's one of them.

I can't travel too far as I use public transport and travelling home alone at night isn't the safest thing to do for a woman alone. I don't mind a 3 hour round trip in a day if I'm going to spend as much time in bed. I do object to travelling for hours for an hour or less of me sorting out someone's need for a vagina.

Yeah, some people seem to think can't accommodate and can't travel just means you're an awkward bugger. For me, it's somewhere I can get to easily on public transport or within £20 or so in a taxi.

I once travelled three hours each way to see a lovely lady in Shoeburyness. Well worth it and I had a grin on my face during the train ride home

But there are various reasons why someone might not want to travel far. I think they've been touched on...preference for local fun (perhaps commitments keep them close to home/work), personal safety, cost, etc.

Oi you!

I'm not saying that as a direct criticism - just how it turns out quite often.

I have no issues at all travelling.

Happy to do daft distances if I "click" with someone.

Unfortunately sometimes it materialises that the "cake, eat, extras" syndrome kicks in.

No, I meant people only get away with "unreasonable" demands because other people go along with them.

If people only want to chat then that is up to them. It's not against site rules. How's about people using the site to suit them.

Can't travel. Can't accommodate. Use common sense! I'd assume they can meet locally.

No, keep it how you want it - if they are too fucking stupid to understand then you wouldn't want to meet them anyway!

For us it means we cant/wont meet outside of our home. Why not is a question for potential meets to ask not for general knowledge

I don't drive but have travelled by train for meets. Its nothing to do with whether someone has a car.
