I think for me it depends on meeting the right person, some men are good with their fingers or at giving oral, if they aren't though it doesn't matter because they are better at fucking.

Same here - didn't have my first orgasm until a couple of years ago, and it had never bothered me as I didn't know what I was missing. Even now I only come through oral - not yet achieved it through penetration, but I still love it.
