deleting sent messages

I tend to only ever bother with my sent message section if I have mailed someone and not got a reply from them,to check if they have read my mail or not.

I dont tend to delete the message once I have sent it,as its gone and I have no use for it really but dont see the point in deleting it.

I guess some do but not sure why.

Is it because they have a good clear out of all sent messages or is it because they dont want to leave a trail for the partner who they swing with or a partner that doesnt know about swinging and could stumble on their partners profile and know the password they always use and read everything they have sent and received?

I am often curious about it.

Do others elete all sent messages once they have gone or not bother or mix of both.

Love to know why??

I have a mass clearout every week or so

Sometimes sooner if I need to find a message that I should have saved and its slipped off the page

I delete out of habit for respecting the database. I don't need them, so why let them take up space. They don't take up much, of course, but not much x lots of people = lots.

in the night garden

I had clear out of in and out box this morning but there were stacks in there.

Normally I leave them hanging around for reference as my memory is shit.

When I've been playing message ping-pong all day though I have to delete as it's too many and too 'scrolly'.

That would be fine if it happened but admin will keep sent messages for a set period so they can follow up complaints as well as legal requirements.

I delete all sent and received messages.I don't see the point in holding onto them.

You should see my inbox at work too...everything filed away, can't stand clutter, and yes, perhaps I'm a little anal!

I forget what ive said to people half the time

Im thankful for the message history thread that we have

I just wish that when someone mails me and it shows they have in the past that I could click on that and see what was sent to me

I know its not a possible feature though as its been mentioned before

I also forget what people have said to me in the past. Would be good if you can read back on the last 6 months of mail or something. Purely as honey said for the case of I forget what has been said. When I have read another 6 emails or forum threads I forget about what I said to which person and when.

If you just assume I will forget that normally isnt far from correct lol

I clear my all 'read' sent items and all received emails that I've responded to pretty much daily.

I like to know see at a glance what mesasges I've yet to respond to and which haven't yet been read by their recipient.
