im playing on my own instead as part of a couple at the moment, dont want to deceive people so ive changed the profile to say this. was that the best way to do it?

Hide your couple profile until she decides if she's part of it, and start a single male profile in the mean time.

Fact is, your profile still shows you as a couple but you're playing as a single male, thus you can get around people who have single males blocked ...
