Kids are cleverer than you know, it will not take them long to work it out for themselves, the more you try and hide your lifestyle the more they will find out. Our kids worked it out and they know what we do, we do not talk about the details or discuss swinging with them, but, because we are more laid back nowdays, our kids have benefited and now have a more open and relaxed relationship with us.

Todays kids are more worldly wise than we where, do you really know what your kids are upto at party's and when they go out with mates ??? and who are we to judge with what we get up to lol

We have 3 grown up sons and we'd like them to know we have an open relationship as we believe they should know that there are alternatives to monogamy. But we'd probably not mention the swinging until society has stopped programming people that swinging is immoral.

I agree, we frequently don't give our kids sufficient credit for knowing (and even practising) stuff. And I would so enjoy it if I found out they were swingers too.

We've told our close friends and they haven't judged us, at least not obviously. In fact our friends have been more open with us since we shared with them about our lifestyle.

My daughter found out when she was 18. A friend of hers saw me on here. It was a tad uncomfortable for a long time, as the whole family found out but I have played it cool, never discuss it and carry on regardless. It's my life, not theirs.

My eldest knows ive been to swingers parties with my ex in the past and that i meet men for sex, but not the details and I don't actively discuss it with her. She does take the piss every now and then when one of those Channel 4 programmes pop up, so at least shes not too affected by it.

My youngest has accidentally fleetingly seen me on fab and told her friend at school that her mum should try fab too as I was on it...her and I were both on POF at the time so she innocently thought it was just a dating site...her friends Mum never mentioned it but shes probably on here anyway lol

I think the problem is that whenever you see swingers on Jeremy Kyle or other things like that they are always portrayed as odd and usually they have found the oddest looking couples anyway so the normal perception of swingers is rather unfair so if our kids knew it would be difficult to explain without going into too much detail !!

On the wider topic, I can't see why anyone would broadcast about their sex lives to kids.....but I've known a few who've teenagers found out.

We would never tell, or want our kids to know about our private life.

Having said that, we very nearly got caught by one of them, and that was the very first night of us trying swinging, and I was in the throes of my first ever orgasm given to me by another woman!

One of the kids night out in town ended early, so rather than staying at their friends as arranged, they got a taxi home!!!!

Thankfully none of us had stripped completely, as it was like a scene out of a benny hill episode, having heard the key in the door, and all 3 of us running to the kitchen with clothes to put on!!!

So glad I insist on shoes off before coming in the lounge......that extra 20 seconds saved our blushes, and an awful lot of awkward questions!!!!
