We all upload pics, chat and peruse profiles - but what's the deciding factor in making contact with someone?

For me, it's always, always the profile text. Sometimes I'll read a profile and think, we would just so get on that it's worth making contact.

So what does it for you?

Profile - you can get a certain "feel" sometimes for their mind and how well their thinking matches.

I did consider using some of my profile text from elsewhere - think this place might go into thermonuclear meltdown though

Same here, if we read a profile that conveys a fun personality and they appear to be of similar thinking to us when it comes to meeting then we'll get messaging.

I like a well written profile. It shows some one has take time to think what they want from the site. It gives you a peek on to the personality they have. A few good cheeky pictures too. Nothing too full on just to tease and tempt

Yep, an interesting profile read, a selection of damn sexy pics (b&w a bonus) and confirmation that they like pets is always a good start...

I always look at the pictures first but a profile that shows a sense of humour,some individuality and quirkiness along with a sense of pure lust will always get a thumbs up from me

Even if its just a complimentary message because its very rare a profile will have a really positive effect on me

Definitely a combination of profile text and hot pics. From that I can usually get a feel whether we will get on. And I'm usually right aren't I OP lol

Another for profile text. Something well written, with all of the letters and words in the right places, is lovely.

And while I understand the rants about what people don't want from the site, if they are kept to a few lines instead of fifty, it makes me think that somebody is a positive person I'd like to know.

I guess, like most, initially it's the pics, then the profile text, the clincher is how we get on when we chat. I've made some wonderful friends on here, some I've met, some I probably never will, but chatting tells me whether we will hit it off either as friends or in person, never been wrong yet

A mix of the text and photos, If I am lucky enough to chat with someone in the chatrooms too as I find that a lot easier to get a feel of them better

I always read their profile first to see if we are compatible then I read the verifications and pictures always come last, if they put zero thought into the text there isn't much chance of me sending a message.

Exactly what you said. To me, looks, age etc is less important than somebody who sounds fun.

Profile here. If it is one line we assume they cannot be bothered and are unlikely to turn up or try to make the meet go well.

If it is aggressive and bossy we assume they are aggressive and bossy. We like a nice friendly profile with some idea of what they are into.
