Well some people get a lot of messages and the mobile app only displays the most recent 50 or something so I delete them to keep one from each person so i can always reply

we do this - site supporters get the whole thread of messages retained so we keep the last read message only and delete the rest

once I have read and replied to messages I do delete them. As a site supporter you can still see the messages that have been sent and received in the message thread.

Really? Must be something wrong with my account then, as I've been going through my inbox doing a bit of spring cleaning and some messages only have part of the conversation.

I suppose it depends on how old the messages are

Yeah we see the full conversation once the message is replied to. If we reply, we delete. It just keeps the inbox clean. C x

I do that. I do it for txt messages and emails. Just like to have everything clear. How people have 1000's of emails in their account i don't know

The messages only stay one one thread if you both reply on that same thread ie they send a message, you click reply, they click reply etc.

If one of you starts a new message then that starts a new thread.

Im not explaining that very well but I hope you can see what I mean

Does it matter what they do with it ? I delete all my sent mail as soon as I've sent it then I don't know what the recipient has done with it.

Some people keep the last one or two received so they can reply to what you are talking about...If you have a lengthy conversation the page will fill up...and if you are a site supporter the past messages on same thread will be there anyway [for a while at least].

I don't think it's a personal sleight if people you are talking too delete the past messages

I've had this as well. If i delete the rest of the messages from that conversation sometimes they all stay in it and sometimes they disappear, think it might have to do with if the other person deletes your messages? Not sure though coz i don't ask and not bothered.

It keeps by box clear plus if you're replying each time then the thread is there for you to scroll down! No need to keep old messages unless have pics attached then they get saved
