old farts

Just thought I'd start a post for all us middle of age range or old farts.

The old farts bit is self explanatory but I have found that my age is either a couple years too old or a couple years too young.

What is it with ages 38-42?

Ours is set at 40 although we don't put age filters on

Its a personal preference thing I'm guessing. I adjust my age range up a year every year. To be honest I'm unlikely to appeal to the 18-25 bracket...

I'm not finding every profile I look at has this range.

But you can see that the ranges would be 18-35/38 then 40/42-99 it's just them couple of years in the middle lol

Personally I wouldn't group 18-35 together, I'm 31 and no way would I sleep with an 18 year old.

If a guy isn't old enough to remember programmes like knightmare or round the twist then for me personally they're too young.

Ditto, I'm 30 and would never go that young. It seems a strange grouping. My range is 27 to 45 because I prefer a little older but not getting in to "could be friends with my dad" territory.

Wasn't a fan of round the twist but I loved nightmare.

If you can remember 'trap door' then I'm all yours?

Youngest I've been with was 17 when I was 30 to be fair he did tell me he was 23... I'm 38 now and still see him ... nowadays the youngest I'd go would probably be 24

It's an odd in betweeny age. I have the occasional 'bugger' moment when I am a couple of years over someone's specified age range but there are plenty of people whose preferences match so it's no more than an 'oh well' and move on. It does amuse me when I am messaged by someone whose age preferences are set younger than me though. I do tend to point this out since once they message me I can reply...

I tend to not let them build up - gives me terrible stomach pains and when they do escape they smell ten timed worse.

What? 38 - 42? I have even managed to get excluded from that age range (I am 43)

Although there are some who focus purely on younger or older I think you just tend to notice them more. There are plenty of women of a similar age who like someone with a bit of experience but still all their own hair and teeth

I don't view myself at the age of 37 as an old fart lol . I am always told I look like I am in my 20s but if I have to be classed as an old fart so be it never forget fellow old farts with age comes experience the young whipper snappers ain't got

a couple of the nicest men I have met on here were 30 that's 20 years younger than me they were grown up and mature for their age though. Now I prefer to meet 40 to 50 year olds.

To be honest I'm 27, so a good 11 years off 38. My age range goes 18-55, so I'm pretty inclusive of all. Realistically I'd be more inclined to meet someone nearer the top of the bracket than the bottom, it's not always the case and there's great people in the younger crowd, but round here the 18 year old ladies are, well, just drama and loud. And the boys? Well, they just want to fight everything down town. Got go say though, there are some strikingly attractive ladies who are 50+, I know you shouldn't wish your life away but sometimes I can't help lamenting not having a few extra years on me. Truthfully though I just make decisions on the basis of "I like this one" and go from there, age doesn't bother me either way.

If there is a connection and you are attracted to someone I don't see why you shouldn't have a little fool around. To use a phrase I hate...."you only live once"
