I have been thinking of this idea for a while. As it just gone past the festive season and a lot of people and tightening the belts until payday why don't we help one another out. We could do a job for a job professionally of course and get something professional in return.

Example - a carpenter or plumber could do some minor works for your and if your a hairdresser or cleaner or whatever the favour would be returned I think this is a cracking idea

I've done this for years with contractors I know. If we do work for each other, we just contra the value of invoices off against each other's accounts.

Essex.

I am not judging anyone but I can see many people viewing this basically as prostitution...

"I am not judging anyone but I can see many people viewing this basically as prostitution...

I've never accepted that as any form of payment.

What I mean is, if I do a job for someone and bill them £200 then that company/person will reciprocate by doing £200 worth of work for me.

This thread doesn't mean sex as payment.

If we came to you direct we'd get it quicker than the NHS?

Bed baths may be free on the NHS but rather than run the risk of having an unattractive (or even worse, male) nurse, I think you would win hands down (if you'll pardon the pun!)

Nothing at all, I only pay over £100 000 in vat and wish that tax receipts were higher so we can invest in the NHS

The amount of builders, plumbers, electricians etc who ask to pay in cash wink wink

For every reciprocal £ 500 there would be a potential 200 cut to the countries income x

I pay a fair chunk too so don't assume I don't pay what's owed. It's an occasional perk and until someone in authority comes along and tells me that I'm doing wrong...............

My company car is a perk x which is classed as a benefit in kind thus I pay tax on my perk

To be fair my friend , as a person in business of course I empathise with a position where we want to minimise our taxation

However I think in regard to the concept behind the thread it really does amount to working on the black market and avoiding tax

If it did not , you may all as well swap this strange new fangled exchange for labour we call money xx

If Fred does £200 of plastering

And Jane cuts his hair 20 times

The only thing gained by not exchanging money is a tax advantage x

What if Fred only wants 5 hair cuts but also his range rover cleaning 15 times ?

Does Jane have to cut our Polish friends hair ? 15 times
