Surely that isn't such a bad thing? At least he will know one way or another how the other person feels. No point pussy footing about. Life is too short. If they don't feel the same then you can stop wasting your energy on them and move on. If they do feel the same, great.

Without sounding harsh , man up and say how you feel .

Reason I say this , is I made the mistake of not telling someone once . I pranced around them as I didn't have the balls to say anything . Before I knew it , it was too late .

We are still friends 6 yrs later . After a d*unken chat she did ask why I never came onto her . I did tell her that I chickened out and so wanted to . If it wasn't the fact she had now married and had children with a now friend of mine it could of been different all those years ago .

Bite the bullet and go for it bud. Why not go for the ' out for a meal ' and see what happens . Don't just jump in there onto one knee then ram your tongue down her throat . Don't think that's be with me material .

No it's not, it's good to be honest and see if the other feels the same but if they don't, don't follow up with umpteen phonecalls to both home and mobiles phones and then send texts asking why aren't you answering

Its never been something I'm good at, but personally I'd try to make them realise my feelings slowly, spend more time with them, chat more often, make them laugh, see if I can gradually assert myself as a positive in their life who they enjoy being around. Ok, so you could still end up getting 'friend zoned', but your chances of being more to them are going to be so much greater if you can encourage them to associate happiness with you.
