whats app aversion

Whyy are some people so averse to giving their whats app out? Usually its people that arent photo verified?

With single guys my wife gives out kik first then filters out the weirdos before giving her number! This is sensible. But why even after a kik convo would you still be interested but not give ur number out?

We dont give ours straight away and to everyone but when we do, we arent worried as 1 of 3 things will happen:

1 we get on.. great. Fun to be had

2 we dont get on. So we politely say "thanks but no thanks."

3 if 2 doesnt work out and it gets abusive.. you have the option to block contacts.. not just from whats app but from calling/texting.

In 6 months of being on here and other dating sites weve never had to do option 3.

So why the panic IF you are real??

Maybe their mobile number can be linked to them via Google or social medias, and they're concerned about privacy/safety as they couldn't possibly trust a stranger.

We all find the best way to use this site. For us it's clubs and socials and we don't use whatsapp or kik.

You seem to have found a way that suits you so stick with people who agree with that method, and don't stress about people who don't.

Why question the actions of others? Question your own actions,if someone won't sing of your hymn sheet, try the next person, and the next and the next, till you find the ones that do.

But how do you really build up the rapport necessary to meet unless you talk over what I would class as a continuous chat method like whats app?

We don't give our number / WhatsApp out to fab friends.

Kik is enough and all arrangements can be made there. Last thing I want is every time I opened WhatsApp to have fab peeps saying hi, fancy a meet

Happy to chat on the phone early on though so maybe you could look at that route?

Thats a good idea.

For us its about the conversation flowing and its hard to do that properly on here.

But, also to verify people and a call/whats app early on is a great way to go towards proving that youre real.

Wed all like a website with every member being 100% genuine but sadly that isnt the case

Because kik can be set up in 30 seconds with no link to an actual number and not even an email verification. Last sentence in the last comment says it all.

I choose who I give my mobile number to because it's my number! Kik doesn't require a number and whilst I don't use it often and do prefer WhatsApp, if I'm not sure about someone then I'll withhold my personal information until I'm happy to give it. I know some have a second phone but I really can't be arsed with that myself... But some of the guys I meet from fab are friends now too

Why not just meet for a coffee?

A call will enable you to chat. Picture exchange will enable images to be swapped.

But what if those images aren't up to date - or even them?

You'll have built great rapport and chatted with someone you might not be the slightest bit attracted to!!!

Can't fake that face to face!

Oh I see what you mean.

We would happily talk through kik to verified people on here.

If we decide to meet then we either meet at a club or there will be a phone conversation to confirm who we all are and that we are all happy to meet.

I had a stalker, I won't randomly give out my number. I have a 'fun phone' for meets, it texts and it calls, no internet or anything. So I only have whatsapp on my everyday phone. I won't randomly give that out. I also don't have time in my day for hundreds of 'texts' Not only that it's so easy to forget who people are when you randomly add. What works for you is fine for you, don't judge others as fake because they won't do as you ask.

Not everyone has the time to do that in a day and like someone else said they don't want loads of messages on their phone every time they open whatsapp etc.I can't see the difference in a chat on here or on kik/whatspp etc. You can even go in chat, close the room an im each other. If anyone insisted they had to have my number for whatapp etc I would class that as pushy and I'd wonder why they wanted it, it's an invasion of privacy to push for it. It would be a block.

We love the fact that you can group chat on kik and that it is continuous so everyone in a group can see what is said straight away. Makes it easy for a four way chat and easy for one or other of a couple to catch up on what's been said whenever they can. No one misses the 'new msg email' from fab.

Works for us... Never felt a need to use whatsapp for fab friends tbh.

Having been on the receiving end of 3am d*unken booty calls/endless texts, I won't give out my number anymore.

This side of my life is something I want to be in control of. By keeping communication on here and on kik, I can decide when I do and don't want to be contacted.

Doesn't work for everyone and I've had my share of "you're fake" comments but I'm happy to talk on the phone (I will withold my number though) or go on cam to verify I am who I say.

Different strokes for different folks!

If your interested in meeting have spoken on kik, arrange for a social meet if your still nervous. No need to hand out numbers and peer into private things that can link people to their social media profiles... xxx

I find all these whatsapp, kik, snapchat and the like just fads and some are very intrusive I've downloaded most of them but at the end of the day fab covers everything I want and if it looks like a meet will come from it then they get my number but if that turns out to be a mistake I just block them it makes it all so simple.

We usually chat to other couples on kik but will sometimes use whatsapp. It put me (her) off using it when the male of a couple wouldn't stop messaging me behind his girlfriends back. But I've also had that on kik and had to block them. But I'm not keen on the idea of too many people having my mobile number.

We're happy to talk on here for as long as it takes before we give out our whatsapp which is on my phone (him). I

have it configured to annonymous for discretion and can use all the block features the iPhone allows we find this works well for us.

A little lesson learnt when we first got here, we gave Mrs N's number out and asked for discretion but instead got messages detailing what they planned to do in every graphic detail, not smart on our part and number was changed. Could have been a little awkward/embarrassing in family and work situations.

I always talk on here 1st. Arrange maybe a social. If we get on give my number or Kik username, so maybe we can arrange a play meet. This seems to work for me. Weeds out alot of time wasters. Well for me anyway. If they are real and honest they don't mind waiting for my number or Kik.

So why the panic IF you are real??"

We had Whatsapp but a guy kept calling me and heavy breathing down the phone so had to change my number in the end! Put us off

I don't want to give out my phone number to random people on the internet.

If you google my phone number, you find out everything you could possibly want to know about me including my full name and address because, as a freelancer, I use my mobile for business.

But that's ok. I'm not particularly into pushy people who want to exchange phone numbers before meeting. I think it was three months before one of my partners and I swapped numbers. We just used to use various IM programmes.

We aren't photo verified yet our very long list of verifications speak for themselves from a time before photo verification to way after. Why would we bother ? Seems kind of pointless now as we are clearly genuine and who we say we are

"Why do you need to go from kik to whatsapp? What difference does that make, you already have contact through kik...

Because kik can be set up in 30 seconds with no link to an actual number and not even an email verification. Last sentence in the last comment says it all.

And I could get 5 free sim cards from almost any network provider tomorrow....

....true but to go to that extent would be beyond most fakes.

Ps. You havent got photo verified.. whys that?

What has photo verification got to do with anything?

Nothing but I'll humour.

When I first joined the site I was unsure about it as the whole thing was very new to me so I didn't want to upload pics straight away. Then I met people and figured a meet veri was more reliable than a piece of paper next to a faceless body so I decided not to bother... As you checked out my profile I'm sure you noticed it hasn't hindered me getting meets, so I'm pretty sure I pass the 'genuine' test

My point is why not 5 do something that takes 2 mins to do if you are genuine.. regardless of merrit.. thought process or anything else? So odd to me."

Because I think people can see from my meet veris that I have tits and a fanny which is all a photo verification is for! We all use the site in different ways and if photo verification is most important to you as part of your selection criteria then great, stick with it if it's working for you. I've decided now that I can't be arsed to get photo verified as I don't think it's necessary with me having so many meet veries...If it means I don't get contacted as often then so be it, but can't say I've honestly noticed. If I had no meet veris then I might look at it differently, but I genuinely don't feel it's necessary after 5 yrs of meeting actual people

I'm confused why the need to move from kik to whatsapp if you have already used kik to check they're ok to talk to. We don't give whatsapp out for all the reasons already given and find that kik works well enough for us. We are both involved in any conversations and can block those we don't want. Giving out personal numbers is unavoidable at times, although usually just when actually meeting as internet round by us is temperamental, but by then we've decided someone is trustworthy enough to meet so a phone number won't make a difference.

Anyone who is pushy and demands a phone number is not worth our time

"My main reason for not using what's app is it a works mobile .

But I can buy a pay and go phone in Tesco for 4.99 so why u feel what's app is proof of being genuine is baffling .

We wouldnt talk to u in the first place u havent had photo verification."

You wouldn't talk to someone who has over 20 MEET VERI'S??! Seriously?

"Maybe their mobile number can be linked to them via Google or social medias, and they're concerned about privacy/safety as they couldn't possibly trust a stranger.

This is a big reason... I have been found on Facebook as Facebook suggested me as a friend because I gave a fabster my number to whatsapp. That scares

me... Access to my family friends and work is all there.... And I have Facebook privacy set to not include my number too... Still happened. I still show on his suggested friends. wow didn't know this..."

Me neither, that's worrying

Maldon

For us we find that we don't have the time to text eachother when we're working let alone a 4 way what's app convo. For us it's easier on here. We don't want to give people our number unless we feel happy with the way messages in here go. Too many messages recently from couples cease when asking about what the female likes as it always seems to be the male messaging with intent towards the female only. If we message a couple we speak to them as a couple. If people can't do the same with us then we're not interested straight away

The Dungeon

We only give out our number when we've already agreed a hotel meet and that's just so we can tell them the room number, and for them to tell us when they've arrived. Otherwise we don't have the time nor inclination to waste on whatsapp or txting.

Don't give our number out until we know and trust people and the only time a photo veri comes into play if they have no meet veris

"We don't give our number / WhatsApp out to fab friends.

Kik is enough and all arrangements can be made there. Last thing I want is every time I opened WhatsApp to have fab peeps saying hi, fancy a meet

Happy to chat on the phone early on though so maybe you could look at that route? "

This.

My whatsapp is for friends and family, like my facebook.

I gave my number out, never again bombarded with calls and texts while i was with family.

Whatsapp kik or any messaging app does not make you real or unreal.

Get a cheap pay as you go phone and switch it on and off at your own choice.

I have also given my number to a few single men on here who have never given me bother.

Her
