Just curious as online social sites and the internet age. This site gives easy access to set up swinging events. How did this normally happen before fab and the internet boom?

MAMOBA, miles and miles of bugger all (Aberdeenshire)

Talking to people!

I was introduced to the scene during my college years, and really enjoyed it and kept going.

Same as I do it now,

Telephone calls, regular meetups , socials, text messages

Too much competition online to even contemplate trying to get a meet sorted.

In exactly the same way any movement worked. People phoned, spoke to each other directly, had meetings, wrote letters.

This is no different to anything that existed before the Internet.

Alot used to happen by being in the swinging/swapping "scene"(hate that word though) with groups of mainly couples who would organise parties at their homes....often where would be a new couple invited that someone had met at another party elsewhere and so the network grew.

Before internet/e mail communication was by the phone and by word of mouth

"have to be grateful for internet though"

It's a blessing and a curse to be fair. Don't get me started on the end of days....

I asked this question ages ago and the response I got was 'its called the real world' from some smart arse.

We all know it doesn't happen in the 'real world'
