Are we rude if.....

We don't accept all the friends requests we get? We don't get that many but we do get a few.

Now we aren't chooses except that we tend to stick with people we've actually met or people who are close and verified BT friends we've already met.

What. Methods do others use to choose which requests to accept and which to not accept. We also prefer that they are in a reasonably close proximity?

I only accept after chatting and agreeing to meet which is why I only have 6 on my list.

I've been criticised for this in the past but I have my face picture in my friends only album so it's my decision who to add

I don't accept any unless I'm interested in the person sending the request. A lot of people ask before requesting, the ones sent by people I haven't spoken to are ignored

It is up to you, but I don't see how someone you don't know could think you rude for not accepting a friend request. My friends are people I have chatted to and get on with, have met or hope to meet (and ideally are all 3!)

If they didn't ask before sending a friend request then no need to worry

We accept about 1 in 20 invites we get and the ones we do accept are from people we intend to meet for a social at least.

It is your profile so do whatever you are happy with.

Absolutely not! There's some folk you won't like around here, that's human nature, you don't have to accept a friends request from anyone.

Our rule: Add those we are interested in meeting. Those we know we will never meet then it's poitnless, however, if we have a convo with some and all is good and still we don't intend to meet which both parties know we will still add them as there is a mutual raport even though both parties know nothing sexual will develop from it, we have a few friends like that. We know some wouldn't entertain our last part but the whole point is it's frankly up to you, just don't feel obliged to do anything it's your experience, try to make it as positive for you as possible. Good luck.

Even if they message you first, i think, for most of them, the main reason is to look at your 'private pictures'.

We are very similar. We generally only accept friends from some one we have met and the odd occasion we have accepted it of they have met good friends of ours.

Everything can still be done without being friends. If people ask we normally tell them that we won't accept it but hot list us as it is pretty much the same thing.

I don't understand the thinking behind sending an unsolicited friend request, other than wanting to see your private photos.

I never accept them.

I only accept friends requests from people I know (usually that I've met, socially or privately).

Yes, sometimes I get single females or couples out of the blue send me friends invites, and when I reject it they block me.. usually after a nasty email about how arrogant I am, it being my loss, and they would never want to meet me. To which I think "Okay.. so what did I lose out on, as I did not know you existed 2 minutes ago?"

We find it rude when people send a request but don't have the decentcy to message or wink first. Most are way outside our prefered travel distance an as such can only assume they want wank material an have no interest in us as people or potential meets

Not sure what the advantage of just being friends with someone you are not going to meet or never meet, however

The only reason to be friends, is to quickly find them, see their status and perv the friends only pictures.

Of course I could have missed something...

My friends are exactly that. People i have met...or at least spoken to (not just on fab) and have a likelihood of meeting.

Any request from randoms i consider the sender of the request to be tge rude one.

only friends if we have asked if it s ok to send invite or vice versa - apart from the odd one where they have been on the hotlist and out of the blue send an invite-maybe a week or so after our first message - will admit some we look at when offline just to perv pics then delete

We delete all others

I rarely look at my friends requests. Doesn't bother me if anyone sends a request or not. It is easy to ignore them. I don't feel the need to block them or send them a message asking why they sent the request.

I just see it as a way to see your friends only pictures. Or for me to see theirs. No big deal.

It's not face book. We are not here to collect thousands of friends. We only accept requests from people we've met or played with. It make our friends list a little more personal we think. Besides why give some stranger/s we are never likely to meet access to our personal photos??

The people on our friends list are ones we have met. And we keep it that way. Anyone who sends us a random friend request without having met go straight to block list. At least we know the people on our friends list aren't time wasters and we know we can arrange another meet with them easily
