I know that's the way it is but it still tiles me somewhat, that a woman could be staying overnight in a hotel in different part of the country to where she lives and puts on a meet for some company and get guys falling over themselves to oblige her but when a guy does it some women get so offended that a guy would even there ask, lol

Maybe you guys shouldn't be so eager to please. You're blaming women for (some) men being so desperate to get laid.

You also seem to disregard the fact that women have to concern themselves more with safety and security. Men should consider these factors but they don't appear to.

Yep!! This is why I won't meet guys like that! If it's someone I've met or we had discussed it and chatted for a while then that's different but I'm not interested in some random man sat in a local hotel basically trying his luck with anyone in the area

I guess the way to do it is if you know your going to be staying over in another part of the country start sending a few messages to women/couples in that area beforehand to try and build up a rapport

Exactly, the scatter gun approach on here is insulting. I wouldn't put up a meet or a status saying "anyone will do" and I expect to be treated similarly. I want to feel desired and special - I don't want to be used by someone just to release their sexual tension. It's so boring and dull.

I've met men before who are from elsewhere and staying on business or whatever. But it's only where we've been in contact for a little while before, I'd be very unlikely to do so if it was a 'meet tonight' kind of thing.

Agree totally. It's all about the interaction. I've occasionally met people in hotels and had a wonderful time. But most of the time these guys don't care who I am or what I look like, they just want a hole to fuck. Instant delete!!

I've met guys in hotels in York, I've arranged to meet men in hotels when I've travelled elsewhere. The ones that have been most enjoyable are the ones where the meets were arranged in advance. I won't drop everything and go out late at night because someone's come in from the pub with beer horn.

Its very rare that people travel to hotels last minute, so I'm never sure why they leave arranging some fun til the evening they're there.

i live near heathrow so i get a lot of this...often just after the pubs shut! had one the other day who came back about 20 minutes later saying he'd asked a bunch of other women who werent interested and did i know anyone not on the site whose number i could give him!

We used to live by a lay by where trucks parked up overnight and got a lot of "I'm in the area" messages...It just kind of feels like it's any port in a storm, or anyone local, no matter who they are...oddly enough, we weren't ever tempted...

I don't like last minute meets, which my profile states when not hidden, so anyone messaging to say they're in a hotel do I want to come over clearly hasn't bothered to read my profile, however I have met guys who have messaged a week or so before hand to say they are coming to my area in the near future and put a bit of effort in.

There are some that will enjoy last minute meets though, but I would guess they'd put a meet tonight listing up if they were looking for something that night, so maybe message those looking for last minute meets if you can't be arsed/are unable to put the groundwork in before hand... Or go to a club and try your luck there?

Slightly at a tangent, we have had people suggest that they come and stay with us for a long weekend on a sort of bed and breakfast with sex thrown in basis. Some are even good enough to say that if they find we aren't their type they will get a hotel.

I've just got one of those messages from a trucker. I think I'll just stay in my nice warm bed instead of racing out to meet up with a complete stranger in his truck. They may be desperate but I'm certainly not
