Hung up on age....

This is getting beaten to death in the forums, and got me thinking.

Does age really matter? no hidden agenda, I prefer to stick to people around my own age but, If I see a gorgeous woman that I find sexually attractive, and she wanted me, age would not be a factor.

Although I have broken the first a number of times, my general guideline has always been, if she's young enough to be my daughter, or old enough to be my mother (let's be honest, she'd be a corpse to break the second one now lol) I'm dubious.

My preference is more the result of social conditioning than experience. I have met accomplished and attractive lovers (for want of a better word) of all ages.

Does age really matter to you, all these young guys desperate to meet older women, and all the older guys breaking their neck to meet a teenager, if someone your own age was interested, and you found her attractive, wouldn't you?

Age does matter to me in general but not in particular. As a general rule I wouldn't meet a man younger than about 40-45 but particular younger men fit my criteria.

I don't agree that age is just a number either.

Appeal matters to me more than age, but I am usually drawn to older men... my current lover is 11 years my senior and it works very well between us.

Women age is less of a factor, its more about a connection, sense of humour, personality and sexual attraction but I wouldn't go with anyone young enough that I could be their parent.

I'm the same, I do have an age range set on here though but I've always said if someone is over or under that who I'm attracted to then I have no issue with it. Also when it comes to clubs you could be attracted to someone and end up playing with them and they be outside your age range.

My girlfriend is 22, she prefers people my age and older so as a rule that's the age group we meet. We have however met younger people in clubs and socially a few times so we don't set our preferances in stone.

Often you hear the term "maturity" used but I don't think it's that so much as everyone getting on so that everything goes with the flow.

I'm quite open to any age that's legal, I'm more interested in personality.

But if I remove my message block on younger people then I get bombarded with crude messages from younger males (I can't call them men!) who have no manners, no respect, and mostly just tell me that they're desperate to fuck an older women (and probably don't care who...)

So the few good ones get drowned out ....

So, sorry, but my younger age block stays in place!

Age matters more to me than I would like. I still have a mental block about going past that 49 mark.

Even though I am in my 40's now, in my head I'm not and 50+ still seems more like my parents' generation than mine.

Not meaning to be offensive but most 50+ guys look like grandparents, (which, of course, they often are!), to me.

I know a few really hot 50+ men but generally guys aren't that well preserved by that point. Grey and balding just isn't my thing.

I know I'm going to get slated know but this is how I feel about it. Like I said at the beginning of the post, I'd like to feel different. I feel like I shouldn't think like this. But I do.

Age is really not just a number to me...it's am indicator of so much more that leads to some kind of connection, no matter how fleeting. I do ask people how old they are in clubs but generally find I can tell if they fall into my parameters...because I wouldn't generally have sustained any interest in them anyway. In a game where you have to draw the line somewhere, age is one of the measures that are useful to me...

I have always naturally been drawn to slightly older guys.

Anything younger than 30 is just too much of a risk... a few 18-29 year olds pop up in chat, and their immaturity is obvious within the first 4-5 sentences

My meets so far on here have been in the 40-55 range, and they have by far been the best. I don't have the patience to give anyone younger a chance.. same on here as when I am in 'nilla land.

I have been attracted to much younger men from their initial messages and engaged in conversation which has shown them to be mature in their attitude and outlook, similarly I have received messages from men my age and older who seem to lack that maturity, so maturity does not always come with age!!

Last summer I connected with a guy after reading his forum posts on a number of subjects and we met for a drink when he was in London. During the next five hours we barely stopped talking long enough to draw breath and its one of the best afternoons I've had in a long, long time with lots of laughter but plenty of in depth meaningful chat too. He was 23 and I was 54 - did we meet up again, yes we did and the second time was just as amazing tho possibly with a little less chat!! Had anyone asked me when I joined the site three years ago whether I would meet a 23 year old for sex I would have said absolutely no way, I have children older than that!!! Charisma, chemistry and personality make someone attractive, it has nothing to do with their date of birth!

For me, it's more about personality and a mutual connection rather than age. There's not much age barrier when it comes to attraction but I relate better to people around my age or older. So regular meets have always reflected that. But, I wouldn't rule out regular meets with someone much younger if we got on. I did have an ex girlfriend who was 12 years younger than me and we got on great. Never say never.

You could ask younger guys why? I do, am nosey so i ask a lot of questions anyway.

Reasons i've had given to me is, young women tend to be crap in bed (probably shy or unconfident, i know i didn't used to like giving bjs when i didn't know what i was doing), older women look after themselves and they like that, the milf fantasy thing, young women tend to be shallow and materialistic this makes guys feel under pressure when with them, they wear too much make up or look fake and the guy wants a 'real' women (whatever the fuck that means). All these are off several different guys and so are their individual experiences with women overall and not a generalisation of younger women by me.

I've met a fair few younger guys, they're alright, pretty much all of them polite, nice guys, fun and good in bed. Nothing to do with stamina either, they love exploring sex and want to experience new things or better versions of what they've had already.

You can be suspicious if you want but it might be all in your head. Shit i'm nothing much to look at, not minging but nothing stunning, small, fat, alright face, bit rough in manner sometimes, but i'm friendly, fun and have a lot to offer a guy (many guys lol), and that's what makes me attractive. The fact that i have hang ups but understand most guys do not care about them, overall i think i'm a good package and always have been and it's not that much down to looks.

Men are a lot less shallow than we think they are, trust me. In fact i've noticed they let themselves be vulnerable a lot sooner than women do. Don't know why that is, just an observation.
