"Hit the nail right on the head, everyone has their taste, in a swinging environment it generally is about being able to pick which sweets you'd like to taste, much before you consider them as a person, their personality or beliefs. That said, someone outside of swinging could find their mixed relationship is because of the person they met, and who they are, they have become attracted to who and not what colour this person is. I do think that just like for many other reasons, some people may have chosen to, date, fuck, or whatever as either a rebellious thing, to be cool or some other reason(sometimes racially derived)other than either sexually attracted or emotionally attracted. But that isn't just a Race thing, that equally could be two people of same Race, but a class, status or thing.... Here another good example, how many young girls you heard say I want a squaddie, or fireman...I personally would be quite upset if the reason someone wanted to fuck or date me was only because I was a black, fire fighting squaddie! I have sex with those I'm attracted to and don't actively look at race or anything like that, but I do get out off by messages offering nothing more than a BBC as I want to enjoy the person not just one physical attribute. I do think in some areas though there is still a taboo factor though. I'm from Bolton so I've grown up surrounded by every ethnicity going, but I now live more towards Leigh and work in Warrington and seeing a non-white face in these areas is pretty unusual despite them being so close. I've noticed a few times when people have treated my Indian friend a bit differently (not necessarily badly), and that's probably because of stereotypes they have that she may not fit? | |||

Going through each post individually, I found myself compelled to respond at various points but none more so than at this point. I've mentioned this to others but I think some of the confusion/resentment of this particular preference is a perceived 'image' or stereotype. For example, there exists a black stereotype, perpetuated by 'road dramas' and factors such as physical build in addition to a 'braggadocios' personality. Anyone who has spoken to me and/or met me knows I'm no 'stereotype'. Lol But there are those who have turned me down for that reason, even if not explicitly stated. And just to add, I have 3 good friends who, when we were younger, loved black guys. For them, it was black men and nothing else... Each of them then fell in love and got serious with White men. It kind of lends itself to the suggestion that they were drawn to an image or stereotype of black men. As if they had not thought of anything past the perception or the inferred danger element. Don't get me wrong, I'm not talking about general preferences (as I've benefitted from those, lol) and we mostly have those, even if they manifest themselves differently. I'm one of those people who has only known a multiracial/cultural existence (I'm a year older than the OP) having grown up in London, but not so young that I've not encountered comments and quizzical looks about people I've been with.
