We've been wondering how far people would travel for a meet? Initially for the first time and then if you were established friends?

If I have never met them before, half hour tops each way. I have travelled four hours to meet someone I had met before. Shamefully, it was only a two hour journey but I got a little bit lost.....

Manchester

Most far I travelled was to Hull from Manchester for first social meet. We've been constantly chatting a couple of month then finally met.

It was worth waiting and worth travelling even just a couple of hours meet over a coffee. This is it. We still in contact time to time and we are still good friend (without benefits)

Being where we live, we often travel for meets, but if overnight stay the furthest we would travel is 2 hours by car x

An hour is the furthest that I have travelled, would probably say 2 hours tops.

I only stay local for my first meet, I don't drive so im really not willing to be sitting on trains for hours on the off chance of liking someone only to have to get back on and wait around on trains stations an hour late if we don't

If I really liked the person and there was a connection I would drive the length of the country

Initially for a first meet to socialise and chat and get to know each other if it was over 100 miles for me then i would hope to meet half way, so around 200 miles, but then if we've spent time chatting here and get on great, then i don't really see distance as an obstacle, although if i drove 4 hours for a social meet and they never showed up i would pretty pissed off to say the least

And anyone who travels to me, if they come a fair distance and we don't click, there is still a bed for the night, i would be able to cope if someone spent hours driving to me, and then was in an accident on their way home due to tiredness.

It would depend on the chemistry and the type of meet planned. I've said it b4 I and women have travelled 2000+ miles NON were a disappointment. The only disappointment I can recall was when I travelled to Wrexham to meet someone, she turned up and we did click...... But we didn't have fun and do the things we'd discussed

"used to regularly travel to london from manchester, however, I have gone as far as bedford, wales, SW coast and NE for meets - just depends. "

a few years ago, i rode 150 miles on my Motorbike for a meet in deepest darkest February, the other person however, was replying to my texts each time i stopped at services to warm up my hands and feet, but on arrival at the destination the replies stopped

now, being very very cold i wandered around town in and out of shops for a while, still texting and getting no answer, and with darkness setting in, the heavens opened and so my long ride home saw me get soaked down to the skin and so cold that when i stopped for fuel i couldn't get my gloves off, and when i needed the loo after frantically struggling to get my gloves off, and finally succeeding, my hands were so numb i then couldn't get any buttons or zips undone, the only good thing to come out of the next few moments was the fact my lower region warmed up rapidly, if only for about 15 minutes.

when i got home i was very pissed off and decided to start taking driving lessons for the car!

If it is a very long way away I would normally suggest meeting halfway and getting a hotel room together....

A nice coffee or drink in the bar then off to the room for delightful fun!

And whenever I go for a meet......

always have a "Plan B" so that if things dont work out, your day has not been last, you still end up having a good day.

I always have my dancing shoes with me in the car!

I have traveled from north of scotland to liverpool to meet - but combined it with football.

I've also had someone who used to regularly travel over 150miles to meet me.

I've travelled over 100 miles before. Obviously that's to meet someone I knew was 100% genuine. Usually for first meets I keep it fairly local. That way if I'm let down I've not wasted fuel, money, breath etc.

I have no problem traveling if the chemistry is right. Arranged to meet someone in Scotland and then no communication until the day we were supposed to meet, suddenly I get a message - I take it you are not coming - to which I said yes.

No rapport, effort, chemistry so why would I make the effort

Max of half an hour for a first social (that's about 15 miles on our roads )...people I've met before, I'll travel a bit further or invite them to mine. Fortunately, I travel a bit anyway for clubs, socials and the occasional work trip so I'm always able to find someone to pass a bit of time with

I'd travel an hour for a social meet and further for a proper meet. I love driving so a few hours in the car doesn't bother me at all xxx

Me too...Penrith is an hour and a half, Carlisle 2 hours...I tend to got to Blackpool and Manchester which are 90 mins to 2 hours...fortunately, I can also occasionally lure victims to mine, but they need lots of TLC after braving the roads to Arse End

Ha ha sounds like the roads to Arse End are very similar to those round here. I've managed to lure a few victims to the coast too

I'd either drive or take the train up. Distance wise I say 100 miles or more depending on the person and how long we've chatted and if I'm driving probably 1hr 30 or so.

Like I say all depends on the person tho.

Most we would travel for a first meet would be about 30min or so. If it was people we knew then distance is not an issue. Only the time off work lol. Most we have been was from Bracknell up to Bradford to meet some friends for a weekend of fun

First meet, 20 miles, good friend, ends of the earth, providing I've got the petrol that is

For a new meet it would be up to an hour away.

A couple of years ago I was having an affair with a woman from the North East and we used to meet in Leeds once or twice a month.

That went on for 12 months.

First social meet is always a 5 min drive from me, on the basis that if we get on and have play meets, it will be me doing the driving to his from then on.

Won't drive more than 30mins to anyones and luckily with all the great gents up my way I don't have to!
