Text speak should be banned. To me it gives an idea of the person whose sent it and what they are like. So it's a big no from me.

It took me three times as long to try and decipher what I was writing anyway! How does that save time?

To me, it shouldn't be banned for exactly that reason...people can choose to write however they please and if that acts as a filter that helps you work out if you want to meet them or not, all the better

I hate it but, despite having something to that effect on my profile, I still get messages that use it.

Maybe I'm too polite but I usually reply if only to give the sender a brush-off.

If you're going to message me, take an extra second to write in English, please.

Same here and particularly know many fees who delete and block without even reading. Anyone sending such a message has got to be a total wnkr.

i dont like it but if youre taking notes its handy- anybody ever learn speedwriting - pretty much leaving out vowels and a few other things- text speak reminds me of it

It started in the days when folk mostly had text & talk phones and you were limited to the amount of characters you could send in one message. These days most of us have access to querty keyboards even on phones and you could send War & Peace in 1 message, so there isn't really any reason to use it
