I think in all honesty (and only speaking from my own experience) stuff that isn't intended to be bitchy very, very occasionally comes across as bitchy since humour and context isn't always as easy to convey using the written word without body language clues. I know I've made what I've thought was a lighthearted attempt at a joke before now only for it to be taken completely seriously and felt awful as a result. I don't mind apologising for any language mangling I may commit though and tend to steer clear of polarising threads unless I have a strong opinion I think I can state without being personal.
