How old are you really!!

Every now then I come across certain profiles on here! In which I see there picture then look at there age and I think no way!! they look 20 years older than they are stating, So i'm wondering if anyone else has come across similar on here?? Or met up with someone and thought they look 10 years older than there pic?

Yes, I met a man a few years ago who's pictures were at least 10 years out of date and he was a few stones heavier too.

I've noticed a few women who are at least five years younger now then when I first joined the site four years ago too

I really don't understand why people lie about their age. I'll be 50 in a few weeks and if I'm outside someone's age range, then so be it. That's life

we are exactly the age we say we are.

We have seen pictures that clearly show that the profile owner has either lied or led a very hard life and yes, we have met people who have obviously been economical with their date of birth.

I honestly can't understand why though.

We are honest about our ages. The dishonesty on here is why we will only meet socially first. We met a couple from this site who both managed to put on 4 stone in the time between us seeing their pictures and arriving at their place a couple of hours later.

I have met three women in here for socials, who were clearly 10 years older than they stated in their profiles. I'll be on thin ice by saying this, but I think some women mislead on purpose, in the belief that a man will either not notice, or not care as long as he gets his wicked way.

If someone is outside my age range, they should not get in touch with me, nor deliberately mislead me. I read all the way through profiles, why can't they?

I did meet a guy a few weeks ago whose profile says 47 and he actually 'admitted' to being 52 when we met, saying that no-one is interested in guys who are over 50, so he changed his age to improve his chances

Lets be honest who puts a shit picture of themselves on here, take the same PIC from 6 different angles and you have 6 different shapes, so when people say someone looks different in the flesh what did they really expect.

We Skype before we meet for coffee etc just to check that 30 something hunk looks something like his pics.

. I look at the pictures and how well the profile is written. . If I do look at the age , it is the last thing that I look at and I do not waste my time trying to check if the age on the profile agrees to the picture.. I have better and more interesting things to so.

My age is exactly as it says on my profile but as so many people say I look a lot young I could fib and say I was 45. It's tempting sometimes as I'm blocked by some profiles that I like just because of my age.

Won't do it though as I want people to want me for what I am, not for what they think I am.

I'd rather be rejected for my real age than a fake one, as that would bound to mean missing out due to said lie at some point anyway!

It is nice when I'm asked for ID when I'm dressed casually and buying alcohol during my grocery shop . Even if they don't really mean it!

I received a message from a guy claiming to be 42. He looked like my dad's age group and made that footballer who had to go to court re his age look like a schoolboy.

I have heard a few times off guys that they've gone to meet women who had clearly lied about their ages and not kept up to date photos. Creating a dilemma for the guys. Some have stopped and played regardless, others have said "not likely! Ta ra and wheel spun off into the sunset

A friend of mine who is a year older has shaved a few years off her age, however she certainly can get a way with it (biatch). I've also met guys who've confessed to being 4 or 5 years older than their profile states - it doesn't particularly bother me, but I don't see the point in it myself and certainly wouldn't dream of knocking my age down just so I could message some hottie

You might gain something by dropping a couple of years, but equally you might miss out on something better by being to young. Swings and roundabouts.

I once had a social meet with a couple (via another site) and the female told me that her age was lowered on their profile. She didn't say how much and to be honest it wouldn't have made any difference - it's just a number.

I say i'm 46 - because i'm 46! I'm sure a few women do - but I think generally it's men who lie about their age on here! I know it's because many women and couples seem to think men are 'past their sell by date' once they hit 40 - but last week I came across a guy who claims to be 35 on his profile and he's really 49! That kind of dishonesty naff's me off, tbh!! Xxx

It's my experience, more so on dating sites that women deduct five years if they're over 40. 3 dates with 3 women claiming to be 43 and every one was 48. To be fair they all looked younger than 43. Age is but a number

I'm 48 and am honest. Have met a few guys who later admit to fibbing a few years, but once met a guy who was at least 10 years older.

Also he was about 10 inches shorter than the 6'2" his profile said he was!

Personally there's no sure way to age guess. I'm 32 and getting I'd for alcohol isn't the big deal as they look for 25+ it's the fact I can't buy candles and a pair of scissors without Id. I also got rejected for a dvd box set that was a 15. Now that's a joke I look young but not that young. Between 18-21 is the general guess. Not that I'm complaining. But I also know people that are my age but unfortunately look at least 10 years older. Everyone is different, depends on skin type, lifestyle, medicle conditions or medication something's. I've seen people with grey hair and wrinkles before their time. My sis started going grey at 21 bless and people still rocking smooth young looks at 60. I don't agree with using old pics or falsifying actual

Appearance but perhaps if people do lie it's because they are insecure. If their pic is up to date and is how they look then who cares if they shed a few years for a bit of confidence. What does age matter you either like them or you don't

We are 45 & 43. I know our profile says younger. I would like to change it but don't know how.

The reason for this was when we first joined the site, it was recommended by our mate. We know he's a perv lol and I was uncomfortable with him seeing my pics. So I slightly changed our age, location and name. As it was. He found us anyway . But if it's any use. The meets we've had say we look about thirty and people are shocked that we look so much younger than our profile age.
