Arranged a meet only to find out you know the couple??

Hi,

Just wondered if anyone has found a couple on here and thought we'd like to meet them and got in touch, then after arranging a meet and turning up only to find out you know them socially away from the 'scene'? (hate that term!!)

It must be a little 'awkward' to say the least!!!

We have seen social friends on sites and stayed well clear.

Anyone had this happen??

Oh god that'd be awkward. Or it was a workmate.

I guess that's what prior mailing is for

It was just a couple from the town where we live, it's quite a small town, but we recognised them, we don't know them that well but thought it best to stay clear!! got to be careful with Viv's job! Just wondered if anyone else has had this happen?

Did make us smile though!!

we live in a small rural village, and were contacted by a couple on fab, who also live there.

They said they know us, which isn't much of a surprise really, lol.

Our pics are on open view, they don't have any, even in private.

We asked them to identify themselves, as they contacted us, not the other way round. They didn't send us their pics.

They asked for a meet in our local pub, but they didn't show, or should I say, they didn't say who they were, lol.

When we go to the pub now, we people watch and try to guess who "the swingers" are.

We've done a few "blind" meets and have to say, have been pleasantly surprised on each occaision.

Kate and I met on a blind date some 30yrs ago now, and so we don't approach blind dates with too much trepidation.

We rarely play on first date either, so it's only a social meet anyway.

We realise other people will see it differently, but, hey, that's life

It would never happen to us, we all show face on cam before we decide to meet, for a few reasons, but the above one being one of them.

Never had it happen on a meet, but was messaged by a guy last year and when we moved things to msn to chat I realised straight away it was someone I used to work with 20 years ago. I would have been happy toplay, but he really couldn't handle some from his "real" life knowing.

The week before last I did have a couple in the chatroom pop up and say..."we know your mum" When I asked how...they said they lived near her. I just laughed and said wellif you see me say hi - just don't mention Fab if my mum is there

Try watching to see who is watching to see who the swingers are, then you might have found your mystery couple!

It's all very well going on about pics before meets, but how many times have you met someone who looks nothing like their pic, has heavily photoshopped or used one from 1987?

Thanks for all your comments, we would never meet 'blind' either, it was just that we saw somebody's profile and we recognised them. But as they are from our local area we decided it best not to contact them, discretion is paramount to us, not just cos it's a small town and tongues would wag (not worth the risk) but because of jobs in the public sector!!

It would mean being suspended or sacked!!

Heard a good story recently about something that happened to a friend of a friend... Couple arranges a meet with a single guy (pics exchanged but not faces) and the single guy turned out to be their nephew!! How excruciating would that have been?

Too many times to mention, but if someone I knew from back in the day, posted a photo from back in the day I'd recognise them!

Then again I always meet socially first in a pub of my choosing, I'm not one for meeting someone I don't know, spoken to or seen in a hotel for a shag straight of!

Oh, I've got a worse one than that! I know a woman who is quite seriously into BDSM, loves to be treated like dirt, being strung up from a beam, given a GOOD hiding before some hard rough sex.

She was chatting with a younger chap online, he was outlining his plans for her, she was keen, but obviously needed to be quite sure about potential meets. She lives abroad in a small ex-pat community, this potential Master apparently lived in the same area, so she was being very wary about what she said to identify herself, holding back pics etc, certain things were emerging which made her spider sense tingle.

Of course, you are ahead of me by now and know that this young stud turned out to be her 19 year old son, who still lived with her. She just let contact fizzle out, and to this day, the lad is unaware who he was sending pics of his cock and detailed fantasies to. I actually felt embarrassed and sick for the poor lad myself, brrrrr, doesn't bear thinking about, does it?

The fact that mother and son were both into BDSM, which to be fair is quite a niche activity in the wider community, surely says something about a there being a genetic aspect of sexual preferences. So it's nobody's fault that we're a bunch of sexual deviants, it's written in the genes!
