There was a thread on this, but was closed just as I was posting my message.

So here it goes:

Paying or not is a matter for agreement between those involved - it is a contract. No issues there.

However , as pointed out already, paying for sex is a prostitution . Some may or may not take issues with that, but one has to consider the legality of the actions, namely, if one uses his or her own body , they are free to do whatever they want with it.

But when someone organises it, involving others, then it becomes a brothel, hence illegal , i.e criminal offence.

The fact that many do it and for a long time does not mean that there will not be a day/night when they might get a visit / raid , arrested, charged and subsequently convicted for running a brothel.

Disagree because the establishments that charge do so for entry rather than the consent of any individual for sex or any other act. There is no guarantee that you will get anywhere in the same way you go out on the pull with no guarantee of anything at the end

When ya pay ta go into a club... You aint paying to have sex! Nothing should be assumed or any one feel obligated. If you go to a prostitute however, you are paying for sex. Huge difference , and one some can't quite grasp

I am not entirely sure what point the OP was making.

When someone organises multiple paid sex workers in one domicile, that is a brothel and is illegal.

A woman on her own can legally sell sex in the UK, providing it is indoors, and not in the street.

A swingers club is legal, because the women there are not paid sex workers, its just club entry.
