We keep seeing how forum advice to newbies and those struggling to get meets is that by engaging in forums will get you meets .

Well we have to be honest , this advice is complete nonsense !

We have been on and off fab for 3 years and have had over 300 meets through fab and guess what ? Not one of these meets has come from being on the forums !

So please bear this in mind guys .... and don't go thinking you are doing anything wrong when these meets from being on the forums don't happen

I've met people from using the forum. People who wouldn't turn up in a search but I have chatted to on the forum. I think two came about from a face pic thread

We don't use the forums to look for meets. I use them to pass a bit of time and have a giggle. It's like people watching without having to leave the house.

I would be fibbing if I said we had never had a meet as a direct result of a forum thread. We have had one but we were aware of them long before then and had them on our to message list.

I think it's more to do with showing a bit of your personality on the forum, this may help a single guy as ladies and couples can see what he is like

I don't use the forums as a way of meeting people, although there are one or two over the years that have caught my eye and have resulted in a meet. It doesn't happen that often though.

Given the vast surplus of single males on here, it's recommended that guys use the forums as a means of expressing themselves and standing above the 'im horny fancy a fuk' crowd.

I don't get a huge number of meets as a result, a fair few offers yes, though I'm not attracted to everyone who messages me, still, I reckon my inbox would be a lot quieter were I not putting myself out there on the forums.

we aren't having much luck on forums or with messages but are looking for women so i guess its a lot harder

No women want to meet me anyway. It doesn't matter which way I use on (fab). IE, forums, pm's, etc.

I met a very sexy and gorgeous biker through the forums.

He asked me if I'd gotten a timeout as well from a thread we both commented on.

And as they say, the rest is history

I've had a couple of meets directly though the forums and acively chat with people I'd not have stood out to.

I think for single males, as long as you don't have too many expectations, the forums are a good place to help...

i don't think I have had a meet directly from a forum post.... however in clubs I have had people come up to me and ask if i am "_abio from the forums" and have said they like a lot of the stuff i post... and commented on it, which has led to conversation.....

so as others have said.... it's not the only tool i use, but it can help in again differentiating yourself from others, and showing you can be different, or show a side to your personality that people wouldn't see otherwise......

so it is used as one part.... same with socials..... same with clubs..... some with popping into chatrooms.... same with profile...

use some of them... all of them.... none of them.... the site gives you the tools to make it work...but the onus is on that person to make them work for them

Ive met one guy through forums and a year later still seeing him.

lots of people who use forums are too far so I don't hunt in forums.have met few socially at socials though

In the past I've had quite a few meets as a result of being a forum "regular". Also posting in the forums led to me attending socials, both the infamous Barnsley socials and the Pussy Posse xmas bashes and beach parties where I have met quite a few forumites and even played with a few

I've also made some true friends from people I initially "met" in the forums...friends who will be in my life long after I've hung up my swinging boots.

. I have asked for advise on the forum. About my profile. And the main thing I got from it was that i'am not alone. And not the only one out their finding it hard to get a meet (single male that is)

The forums do open up the chance to meet lots of people if you want at the socials that are arranged through it

I just use them to have fun with,they're not my hunting ground but ive met lots of lovely people because of them

The majority of my play meets are from non forumites, however I've met loads of posters socially as a result of forum banter and attending socials plus my club buddy Wyrd (who I see more of than some of my blinking family) I now class as a good friend

Why do people organise meets and don't turn up? Baffles me. Why even bother being on this site, I've only had invites from gay guy's but I'm straight , but I always message back being polite saying thanks but no thanks.

We tend to go to clubs and parties, we dont use the forum for meets essentially. The main reason I post on forums is because I like discussions, not because I'm trying to catch someones attention

Outside of large socials we've met a few people as the result of the forums and there are a couple who we would love to meet if distance wasn;t an issue

I think as some of the posts show it can work, but as always it's a case of finding what works for you. The forums will work for some and not for others.

The only meet I've had that was related to the forums was from asking someone if they got suspended for their comment too ^_^

Other than that I've never really had any messages related to the forum and have probably only cost myself meets lol

It has worked for me but I don't expect to get meets through using the forums.

However I have used the forums and it has led to meets.

I would still use them either way.
