Who in the right mind would arrange a "meet" purely through kik messaging (only). I was offered this way of meeting last night. The woman didn't want to exchange mobile numbers to chat on the phone to arrange things properly. But, we kik messaged for abit. Until I thought, my names is, Billy. Hunt. not, Silly. Cunt. Anybody other (fabbers) experienced this way of getting conned this way?

Surely it is no different to arranging a meet through fab messages? I have done this many times and the number of no shows I have had? Zero!

Though I do more often than not speak/text on phone too. But not always.

I don't give out my phone number until I have met someone and only then if I intend meeting them again....

I've never conned or been conned and had plenty of successful meets

It is. Tho you wouldn't be subjected to site rules so if you got abuse you would just deal with it yourself. As with everything use common sense.

I've arranged meets through here, via text/whatsapp & by Kik...all can and do work if you apply a bit of common sense. If you don't feel comfortable with any method then you don't need to use it...just as someone doesn't have to share their number if they don't want to

I have been messed about by a couple before, had their number, even talked to the lady. Ended driving round Weymouth being given direction after direction only to then be put on speaker and have them both shout "sad wanker" down the phone!

Funnily enough, unlos on fab before I had the chance to report...

Kik's great for chatting to friends from FAB and quicker than the email on here but I've got to speak on the phone prior to a meet!

That said I've still ended up going to a meet having spoken and found all was not 'as advertised'

I've rarely talked on the phone beforehand, but that's because I'm not comfortable on the phone and I don't do phone sex so just ends up a one way conversation..face to face I find it much easier to make conversation. I'll happily have a face to face social, but the few times I've attempted a pre-meet phone call I know I've not come across as 'me'. Guess we all have different approaches to meeting, and so far mine has worked just fine for me..but then again I've never claimed to be in my right mind

I use kik & whatsapp to arrange meets but as mine are always social 1st arranging by text works just fine.

If it's going to be a while before we meet then we usually end up chatting on the phone.

Well I've never used Kik and following problems I had in my early days on here I no longer give my phone number out.

If a guy doesn't trust me enough to meet me without speaking on the phone then I'll respect his choice, just like I'll expect him to respect my choice not to give my number out.

it really depends:

first I'd make it clear I have no intentions of needing a sex call.

I will check verifications in most cases

if its a couple, I may ask for a fem call(I've been on the end of a male half arranging the meet and I've sensed the fem half hasnt been aware...)

*in most cases people buy a cheap phone/sim...the technology is pretty disposable

Assuming I'm meeting perfect strangers? a few of my veris are from previous meets with an ex he was happy to give out his phone number. I see little difference between a kik convo with lots of instant messages and photos proving identity. Rarely meet unverified either.

We don't use kik / whatsapp or anything similar...But we do arrange most of our meets through messages on here and it works for us.

We are very selective about who gets our phone number and generally don't give it out before meeting.

Out of all the meets I've had the ones arranged through kik have always gone as planned. The only one that turned out to be a complete fucking fruit cake was the one arranged on the phone. Practically begged me to meet her then when I was on my way and phoned for the address.....silence. Go figure.

"We don;t use kik but I thought it was a way to talk without swapping numbers?"

This is exactly what its for. Or, in realistic terms- its for chatting to someone who doesnt want to give you their number.

So, if someone doesnt want to give you their number thats a big clue to where you stand with them

think its more a trust issue- you know, how easily can i dump this person that i may regretfully have had some social interaction with. toys like Kik are perfect for this.

Whereas with WhatsApp you actually know their number - its just free messages.

Really can't see the attraction in using any other way to communtcate other than fab and maybe a phone call. We tried a swing phone, whatsapp, snapchat and God knows what else and they were all abused by over eager horny guys that wanted a quick wank and were finished before we had chance to meet.

Most people have smartphones or tablets so fab is just a touch of a screen away.

Kik aint a bad thing I guess lots of people can't get on fab unless connected on wifi and obviously people are cautious about giving out numbers so while on your way to a meet kik can come in handy

So using kik doesn't use data then? The same as using fab?

"So using kik doesn't use data then? The same as using fab?"

kik is an application, primariy for smartphones - also has a website.

so yes it uses data, all smartphone/web interaction uses data.

the data you will use for text messages is small, but when you send/receive a picture that uses bit more(file size)

Don't need kik, and would take it as an hour to meet.

The usual procedure is a chat for a while on here, followed by a call, there have been a few where there have been a few male halfs and no female.

People worry about giving their number out, but in fairness, there is a few on the forums that have our number, and never given us bother.
