Do you love it cos it looks good, or hate it for ruining the beauty of nature?

Also, most unusual tattoo? I would say Olly Reeds cock tattoo probably leads the field at the moment-but let's hear you...

Hated tattoos until I realised they could be artistic and colourful things to hopefully enhance a body.

" oh cool! where did you get that done, how long did it take!"

Its actually awesome.. ; )

They are a good ice breaker in many situations. It often causes a look of surprise, a quick pulling themselves together before a 'wow. That's, er, very, er, pretty', when I lift my shirt to show a friend who doesn't know.

No, colour tattoos have been around since the beginning of tattooing. Just the quality of the inks (originally plant based) weren't very good. So faded easily and quickly.

My Gramps had colour tattoos from his navy days.

Have more than a few myself and am in a world absorbed with tattoos.

Love being tattooed, love tattooing customers and love ripping into shoddy work. Haha.

I think some body art can be very beautiful which enhances a persons body and means something special to them. There are some awful ones too but done discretely and tastefully it can be really lovely. J

I like them because they speak a lot about a person. The worst looks though are the following tattoos: Tribal, Japanese, colours, full run off the mill sleeves, horse/unicorn/dragons, lettering/quotes, stars, flowers, celebrity portraits, geeky/gaming/movie related, pet portraits and when the tattoos get way too meaningful.

I love my tattoos, i am an artist so to me they are merely just an extension of artwork that I carry on my body!

When people ask me what do they mean I love to see their faces when I say 'nothing I just thought they they are awesome pictures and wanted them on me'

I used to hate them but I've done a full 360 turn now. I had two hidden ones recently (one being meaningful words - sorry about that :p). Then I thought, dammit, I'm having a visible one. So I have something quite lovely on my foot now. I really enjoy looking at it myself. Rachel - I agree with the above, looks absolutely lovely on you.

There's so many left, there's traditional style which can be anything but stylised and graphically beautiful, there's black and grey russian prison style, there are pin ups, there's baroque, and you can get plenty more inspiration in illustrations, history, mythology, etc, etc, etc even religion. Crosses can be aesthetically beautiful yu'know.

Yeah fair point- then there's that one with what looks like a dove between the thumb + index finger. Just thought it was a tattoo you take at face value. But apparently sailors get them done when they've reached a certain amount of miles?

I always say that my body is a temple, and I want to decorate the walls!! I only have 6 tattoos, but want loads more, and think they can really enhance someones looks. I like to be creative and individual, and my tattoos are a part of that.

Everyone in life likes to enhance their look whether with make up, clothes, hair dye/style, or piercings, so why not do that with tattoos? All of mine are significant to me, and have a deep meaning which will be relevant to me for the rest of my life x

People who arent religious who have religious tattoos are as bad as those with tribal!!

Btw I have japanese tattooes and planning an alice in wonderland one.. Both designs are unique to me, my japanese piece gets more comments about how nice it is even off people who have none or usually dont like tattoos

i want a blacked out upside down cross, nothing religious...has to be the right weight of line and thickness. I think body art is another way, we as humans can express ourselves. I have 14 tattoos, all can be covered up if required, but all mean sommat to me.

I also have 1 scarification design and several piercings
