Profile help - errrr no!

So people we have all seen the 'please give me feed back on my profile' threads. Usually from single males who have just joined , profiles consisting of 'will fill in later' ' just ask' We trot out the usual sage advice re socials, cock pics etc.

My question is why?? Are we making all these profiles conform to a genetic template? Are we doing ourselves a disservice by helping? If someone's a knobhead I'd rather know from looking at their profile.

I expect Fabio would agree. I make suggestions but hardly any men ever take them on board or, indeed, anyone else's advice either. I see a lot of them as a trawl 'look at me' and some weird sympathy shag hope.

It's a very interesting notion that we may make a knobhead into a babe-magnet by careful counselling and advice, but, you know, some guys just need a little help and advice to get going toward babe-magnet status, and others will just never get going no matter what you advise and no matter how many times you repeat the advice(you know the ones I mean..we've had a fair few of that type over the last 24 hours on here).

Most of the whiners and woe-is-me patheticos don't change their profiles in any case, so I for one do not feel threatened by any potential "new competition".

I have my own comfortable niche of friends and partners on this amazing site.

I agree. I have never got why somebody asks forum users what they should put in their profile. It's no longer their profile.

No we aren't making them conform to a genetic template, most of us who offer advice usually say to put what they think a woman would like to see....still plenty of opportunity for them to display their knob headedness .

It's just I've seen a profile go from being a bare back shagger with pics of other women to a safe sex enthusiast just on advice from forumites. Now that's not good. At best unhelpful at worst dangerous. What we going to have next - handy hints on how to make the body under the patio into a striking garden feature.

I think each profile should reflect themselves and what they're looking for, and their present mood.

That could mean a lengthy profile, short profile, or nothing on it. Can't really judge someone based on that. Everybody is on here for different things. Best way to find out is interacting with them.

The thing is people join this site with no real clue of what to accept or how to behave. It's not that unreasonable to ask? Some of the stock advice is perfectly reasonable to give even if it is repetitive.

If someone is an idiot then regardless of good advice that will still be the case and they will always struggle on here.

My peronal gripe is when people that ask for advice then get argumentative or dismiss it. Or even worse when they take non on board and then start the same thread again hoping for a different answer.

Oooo catch me, catch me! we see the same topics over and over and always will I guess, as people have said some need a little guidance, very few accept it and do something about it. It's ultimately their choice. I have offered advice till I'm blue in the face but no one seems to take it on board I can't for the life of me think why? .... It's the same as that oldie... Couple looking for Bi female.

I think plenty of people (not just men) lie about bareback as it's what's expected. A few more as a result of the forum won't really alter that.

Just posted this on another thread but it's as relevant here......

If anyone asks for profile advice on forums I block, if someone can't do it for themselves then it's a massive indication that they have no idea what this site is all about and if they haven't got the gumption to work it out for themselves then I would never be interested and being new to the site is no excuse.

I agree to most of the arguments presented here. I don't mind giving advice (it's up to them whether to take it on board or not). If people write their profile to what they feel would win more replies to messages or get meets, and if at the end of the day they're not as they're profile states, then they will eventually be found out. No one can put a pretence 24/7, unless they're a good actor!

I totally agree and it highlights the point I was making earlier about the effect of help and advice given to newbies..

Some just need a little nudge in the right direction, others will never get the point. Either way,their true nature, as you say, will emerge
