Ok. Anyone know a geek who can make an iPhone app for swingers.

I think it could be fun and a great way to connect!

Any suggestions??

Here occasionally, but mostly somewhere else

What would this "app" do?

Set off a vuvuzela noise if anyone else within bluetooth range also had the app?

Well has gps. So you can see where folk are.

Any other suggestions!

I already get notifications when I get a message, no need to give Apple a masonic handshake to achieve that...

As for the gps bit - many people wouldn't want their phone to start chirruping every time they went to M&S...

"What would you want it to do? "

Make it easier for cheating husbands to access the site?

I was speculating as to the benefits others may perceive - I already have a phone capable of all the functionality mentioned (not inc the ipad, which isn't a phone).

I can give you an answer to this..... its not going to happen!!

Apple don't allow that kind of "adult" app into the App Store....

it would be very easy to do..... there are certain "gay" apps that do basically the same thing.... but they argued that it was "social networking" rather than anything sexual.... but that is what everyone uses it for...

I've stopped laughin' n chortlin' enough to post now ........

NOPE still laughin' .... god my 'muscles' hurt....

The thought of me having a swinger devining device is hilarious!

Fancy getting cautioned for speeding on the roadside - then - paper work complete - Switch roles and fuck his brains out in the back of the car. Genius!!

Him: Do you know what speed you were doing ?

Me: Yes officer. I'm very sorry.

App : Swinger Alert! Dirty Bastards on the horizon!

You can visualise the rest

Apple do allow this kind of app, there is one for connecting gay people called Grindr, there was an article in the guardian last week. When you have the app running, it gives your GPS/location and profile. Others with the app can message you and you can see their location, photos, likes dislikes etc.

Think it would be great. The FabApp!

Actually, they allow sexual content, so long as the content is not illegal in the countries where the appstore is offered, or infringes any of Apple or their partner's TOS.

It all depends on what the FS app would be doing. If the app simply sent a http get-call to the FS server, read the result, and echo'ed it back to the user (via a notification popup) then it would be classed as a utility.

I think the main question to ask, is whether any of the FS admin's know the iphone sdk, and can create any kind of an app in-house.

Grindr claim there app is for "social networking" and connecting people... not what everyone actually uses it for thats how they got round the loophole....

And that's how a FabApp would do it! It would cost about £2000 to develop the app. How about we all throw in a couple of quid...' couples looking for others to have a nice night out with' ... worth a bash?

The makers of Grindr did suggest some time back that they would be producing a "straight" version of their app, but nothing seems to be forthcoming so far... They were going to be branding it differently so it didn't scare off the homophobes, so it might slip out without anyone noticing...!

If you're looking for alternatives, there are some that look promising (try searching "flirt" on the app store) but nothing that really caters for swingers and couples, as the T&Cs for the app store really do keep the sexual content pretty low.

I have a little bit of coding experience, and did consider doing something myself, but I don't fancy investing in a Mac just for that!

they are hoping to have the "straight" version out by the end of the year... so fingers crossed... again it will be have to be aimed at "local chat and social networking" but we will see what they do....

it actually might be an idea to talk to the makers of "grindr" and tell them there would be a possible swingers market for this and see if they bring out different "versions" of the app....

actually... leads to another question... how many people would actually download such an app... especially from a privacy angle when you may well end up being outed?
