Just an opinion poll...

How many forumites avoid posting on a thread where you want to comment but someone you know has blocked you has commented?

I avoid like the plague so I don't get accused of trying to get round a block...

What are your thoughts?

Wouldn't have thought anyone would accuse you of that if you weren't addressing or referring to the person directly, and were just commenting on the topic in general. I'm not sure I'd even notice if someone I'd blocked commented on the same thread as me.

I don't know it I'm blocked for sure by anybody, probably am - but no. I wouldn't care. It's an open forum for all to use! Just don't speak directly to them x

Brighton - even Hove!

I realised I'd blocked some people on occasion by accident due to iPhone fumble fingers. So if I comment on a thread where I've accidentally blocked the OP then it's unintentional. I have so many deliberately blocked men on my profile the accidentaly blocked have fallen off the end of the list. So if you're blocked by me and have a duff profile, can't string a sentence together and think cos I'm bi and live in Brighton I'm going to suck your cock, remain blocked.

Mini rant (a little early for tomorrow)

No, whether someone has blocked me has no baring on whether I post on a thread.

There are some reasons that I avoid threads but that's not one of them

Nope...I rarely look at who has posted what and wouldn't know if I've been blocked anyway. If I see something I want to comment on I will. I don't look at profiles unless the op is asking for opinions on it....or if someone catches my eye and I might want to perv.

if the topic has caught my eye enough to reply, whether serious and i can put my own opinion across, or jokey and i post and have a laugh, i will post..

it doesnt bother me whether the poster or commenter is blocked.. we just have no interest in meeting.

I do avoid sometimes but only because occasionally I know that there are one or two who have blocked me who have views that are the polar opposite of mine and any comment I made would be unnecessarily inflammatory.

As long as your post is to do with the thread then I can't see the problem.

Would only be a no no if you commented about being blocked etc etc.

Er, no. If I feel I have a valid contribution to make (or, more often than not just a contribution whether valid or not!) I will. The fact that someone has previously blocked me should neither be here nor there - should they therefore act as a censor to my views and opinions?

Not sure why the OP is asking the question, if it's because you yourself refrain from posting when you'd like to contribute, I'd say 'fuck 'em' and say whatever you want provided (as others have said) it's relevant to the topic and not a whinge at getting blocked!

I hardly ever look at forumite's profiles so no idea if someone's blocked me. Don't care either way, it's just words on a screen. I post on whatever I feel like posting on.

On a rare occasion a person who has blocked another will make it their business to pounce on contributions by the blocked person on a thread they've started. In that situation it's best to stay out of it I think so that the point of the thread isn't sidetracked for other contributors.

No as others have said unless you are using the thread as a means to address the person that blocked you, then you are in the wrong, but if not you're entitled to comment to give your opinion, just as much as they are.

I've even blocked some people that I don't realise I've blocked. When the chat room jumps and their 'block' button gets clicked accidentally.
