Going Lake District in a couple of weeks, and good dogging locations?

I wouldn't know about dogging locations, but I had a very enjoyable week up there a few years ago. Windermere was a tourist trap, but there was a cracking museum at the Vicker's ship yard and Hardknot pass is interesting to drive over just the once.

My gut feeling was that as far as dogging went, most of the country is that remote and sparsely populated, that there wasn't much of a scene up there.
