lying about smoking

I met a girl on here who was telling me that the previous two meets she had both whipped out cigarettes & starting smoking during the meet despite their profiles saying they don't smoke. I find this quite bad. Saying you're 38 when you're really 42 is one thing but smoking can be a real turn-off & also there are potential health concerns for the non smoking guest.

Why do people say they don't smoke when they actually do??

Why do you think?

If it was ours and someone sparked up we would throw them out if it was theirs we would say thanks and leave. It wouldn't happen in a hotel as its against the rules.

I can understand why...automatic no from a lot of people...i used to smoke, had non-smoker on profile..BUT did not smoke on day of meet, always wore fresh smoke fee clothes...no one ever new and no harm done...bit different from lighting up at a meet...that unforgivable...

i have given up smoking for a while before, and smokers stink to high heaven. but smokers think a fag and a mint, and a non smoker won't notice :O

as a smoker, and i have met a couple of 'non smokers' (who do smoke at our meets), i have given them a right ticking off lol.

Not too keen on smokers but to be honest as they as they don't stink it's not too much of an issue. Would rather they were a nice person! But there's no point lying about it! C x

WE SPOKE TO LOTS OF NON SMOKING COUPLES BEFORE THE LAST BIG ORGANISED SOCIAL WE ATTENDED,unfortunately when we got there we saw near on all of them passing round the fags which really boiled our piss,its happened at parties and even on a few of our meets,smokers are silly to assume that just because you have turned up you will ignore the fact they smoke and smell like an ashtray or hang around in bars whilst they keep going outside for 15 minutes and come in stinking .

Most of the smoking profiles up here are smoking one week non smoking the next to avoid filters

My wife went on a meet alone and the guy said he was a non-smoker. Turns out he was an occasional smoker but the day they met was one of the 'occasions' when he did smoke. She said it spoilt the meet, I have told her if it happens again just walk away. It is not our fault someone lied to get a meet even if he did pay for the hotel.

The question was why do people lie about smoking. I answered.. they hope they will get more meets if they lie about it.

I wasn't asking who would or wouldn't meet us, just that we are honest about it.

I've seen some profiles on here where they say non-smoker and then they have pictures on their profile of them with a cigarette in their hands.

If you're gonna lie about it, at least do a proper job of it

The question was why do people lie about smoking. I answered.. they hope they will get more meets if they lie about it.

We are always getting requests to meet from people who state won't meet smokers on their profile .

When we say this , they say oh I didnt realise I had that on there , and remove it , and quite a few have turned out to be smokers too .

The whole will or won't meet smokers is irrelevant on this thread , but to lie is wrong , which we don't do . We clearly show ourselves as smokers and would always choose a meet with fellow smokers over those that don't !
