Before I get into this and ask the question let me just point out I love larger ladies. Is bbw really just a way of saying I'm fat without actually calling yourself fat? I'm one who would call a spade a spade and don't sugarcoat anything

I'm fat, I'm always unsure whether to put BBW , but it seems to often be used on here. I also put my size though in my profile and that I have a wobbly tummy, so I guess I'm trying to cover all options.

At the end of the day though whatever label you attach, I'm me!

This really grates on me! I'm at the most comfortable I've ever been with my body. Yes it's fat yes it has wobbley bits but it's mine all bought and paid for! Whatever you want to call yourself as long as your comfortable with it does it really matter what other people think?!!

I have no problem with the word "fat". Its what I am. What irks me is when others use it in an attempt to be rude and hurtful. I am what I am. I would never presume to call myself beautiful so bbw is not a term I would use.

Does it really matter what we or others call us, truth is to some we are appealing and to some we are not.

My profile says I'm a big girl, it gives my dress size and my height and my photos show me from pretty much every angle, men can make up their own minds whether that is appealing to them.

I elected to use fabulous for one reason and one reason only - because that's exactly how I feel. Don't like it ..... I don't care!!

Well I don't find it insulting and I said it about my self. I think I have a nice face and a not so nice body.

However others describe me and stunning, pretty, hot, sexy I don't see that my self. But others also find my body hot too including Paul so each to there own and I learnt years ago to not let peoples comments bother me and to appreciate the good ones

Its just a polite word for large, problem is if you put im fat on my profiles you come over as a fat bird with a chip on her shoulder, we are trying to sell ourselves on here after all, so polite words i feel are best used, id sooner see a profile where a woman describes herself as large built, voluptuous, BBW than fat, women who describe themselves as fat just come over as having a bit of a attitude problem to me and just pointing out their negatives, you cam let people know your a big gal in a more positive way

it does kick your confidence, its hard to believe when the guy who married you and is supposed to love you finds you that ugly anyone else will feel different

Yes. Calling a spade a spade is all well and good but if you go round calling women fat yoi won't get many fuck lol your call.

Everyone knows it refers to a fat person but that fat has been used as a negative and hurtful word for years so it's understandable that some women take umbrage when people point out they are fat.

I'll let you in on a little secret....they probably already know they are fat. Fat does not evoke sexy thoughts which is why it's not used as a descriptor on here.

Bbw has sea certain amount of confidence about it because it includes (rightly or wrongly - and let's not forget that a lot of slimmer people say they are hot or sexy or we'll hung when they aren't!!) the word beautiful. It indicates that the woman is comfortable in her size which, let's face, where sexy comes from for most.

What does it matter what someone calls themselves? Fat, bbw, jabba the hut....if you like them and want to fuck them then message them!!

That kind of mental abuse takes a lot of undoing. I had a similar ex. Like others have said, remember he is a bully and he said those things because he is the insecure one and to make himself feel better. Warped I know , but that's what bullies do. At least you're no longer with him and can enjoy meeting guys who will treat you as you should be treated.

The more obscure the relation to the word is to their size the fatter they are is a good guideline.

My ex used to say that he never had to be jealous as he knew other guys werent looking at me! Just before we split i lost 3 stone (still have lots to lose) and all he did was tell me how awful my stomach looked as i lost it so quick so my confidence is shot.. Oh i can put on a brave face & wit but i hate it x"

that made me feel sad as i went through such verbal abuse with my ex, always knocking my confidence and putting me down

what always makes me laugh is all the time you hear men on here going on about how they like big women etc yet you hear a lot of big women going on about how they suffered abuse from partners for being fat

where are all these fat women lovers in real life, is it just something men say on here?

been big all my life and have never experienced abuse about any size I been , from no man! My relationship now is based on alot more things than any size or age thing going on . Yes! They do exsist or should I say Men exsist who choose their partners for many reasons and more importantly know what Respect is

As a larger lady i have to say i call myself fat a lot of the time, however i'm referring to myself and thus not being rude. If you were to call me fat i'd take offence. I didn't get fat because i don't like sugar....

Just look at their pictures, use your own eyes and judge for yourself if they're too big for you. Not rocket science is it?

I couldn't give a flying fuck about size. When I was 21 I was 19 stone. Last summer I was 13 stone. I'm currently 14 and a half stone. I'm still the same sexy beast it's just the amount of padding I have varies. Who the hell am I or anyone else for that matter to judge other people. I like slim women, I like women with curves. Let's be honest, "BBW's" or whatever you want to refer to them as, generally have bigger boobs so what's not to like?

Id love to become more muscly.. I used to play rugby so my legs are still pretty well built but i would like to improve my arms, get my stomach toned and be built so no man ever gives me shit haha
