I think there is more to it than 'peoples preferences'. It's tied in to societal attitudes about sexuality. Men are men and women are sex objects. Like it or not there are many people who choose a sexuality for it's popularity and there are those who really think that the choice they make was their own. So many external influences tell us that men should be macho and like women.

I think the OP is asking why is it bi fems are acceptable but bi men are seen as odd.

I don't have an answer though.

If you are bi, and happy about it, then what does it matter what anyone else thinks? Hasn't adversely affected my/our success rate here or elsewhere.

I think it is a turn on knowing if the men are bi or not. hubby is strait but if he wasn't I would love it. I do feel an amazing amount of women are bi and often wonder if it is merely to turn men on more of if in fact they actually passionately want to be with women.

If women really are going with other women just to please men, then i think that is really sad.

But if the op thinks bi women ar emore 'acceptable' than bi men, ot may have something to do with the fact that a lot of straight men and women love to watch girl on girl action, whereas guy on guy is not *as* popular, except among the male gay/bi community.

Bi women are accepted more than bi men for many reasons, but I guess the root of it all is that two women together can enhance the beliefs that women are the sensuous ones, two women together can and often does still look very 'feminine', more so with the sensual way they touch and kiss.

with a man, it questions his masculinity as two masculine guys together can look clumsy, and two effeminate guys is not masculine.

Now, some will like that and some wont.

Once upon a time, women could not vote, homosexuality was a sin, society is slowly becoming more tolerant.

I imagine there wouldn't be many guys stating bi in their profile if this site was as strong 10/20 years ago.

Disagree somewhat.

Whenever gay porn is raised on the forums lots of women post they find it a turn on: myself included.

I have no desire to play with a bi male but find gay porn a turn on but MFM with a bi male not!
