Hey guys, we've been thinking about starting a group on Facebook for swingers. It will obviously be a secret group with discretion being of the utmost priority. It won't be a case of anybody being able to join - established swingers will have to refer them to keep our lifestyle secret.

What do you think? Will anybody be interested in joining? Is there anything we've overlooked? Feedback welcome

we do have friends on both but fab is NEVER mentioned on Fb

dread to think of our families seeing some fab posts

We figured that there are quite a few swinging sites out there that people might be part of, but the majority of people use Facebook (at least the peeps we know) thought it could be another way of meeting like-minded people

I have a few friends here that also have my Facebook as we've become good friends. My Facebook is for people I've met and I'm comfortable with. A group like that would be too much, too soon for some people.

Facebook want to promote pages and groups and will share your postings amongst your friends list just a warning! I suggest using a free forum site Facebook will out you to your friends. ..

There are many on here who use other names ... If on facebook gonna be the real one which some may not like?

I ( mrs ) do use facebook but only for close friends and famiy ... Swinging life and 'real life' for us is totaly seperate .

Is actually already a fab page ... For naming & shaming!! had a nose but wouldn't use it at all .

I had someone try to intimidate me with threats of rape (until he realised I'm not that easy to intimidate) using a fake Facebook account. I assume it was someone who I sent face pics too then spotted me on friend recommendaction thing.

So don't think it is a good idea as there are some nutters on here.

Although I have a select few on my Facebook.

Call me cynical but I'm just waiting for the follow up thread titled... "everyone in my social circle including my nextdoor neighbor and complete strangers I bump into on the street know I swing...how did this happen?!?"

btw wasn't Facebook funded by the IAO (Information Awareness Office)? At the time the IAO was talking about designing a piece of software that would collate information on everyone's private lives in order to create a more detailed image of who were threats and who weren't. It was, of course, shot down by loads of people in the US...but then Facebook came along...so they invested in that instead. I remember reading something about that somewhere. Whether it's true or not dunno...but sounds plausible

there are several swingers pages on facebook inc a fabswingers page and clubs pages. While we don't belong to any we both have friends who we have swung with on there and who are now good friends outside of swinging

I run a secret facebook page but nothing to do with swinging. the problem you would have is getting people to join.. if it is secret it does not come up in serches etc. so how do you get people to join?

There are a few facebook groups but under different names like "The southwest party people" on facebook.

You can't join it without the admin viewing your fabs profile and at least a verification.

The facebook police will still ban you if you post sexually explicit photos even if you have a private setting on your group.

I can count on one hand the people on Fabs that I also have on FB. Definitely want to keep it that way for now.

A post like this was on a few months back..my view is. It would only take one rejected bloke to have a issy mardy arse fit because of rejection and and screen shot a post or pic and post it everywhere..we would all have to set up fake facebook accounts, so are real names are not used..but sometimes facebook recognises your IP address and recommends your new page to your friends..sorry it's not going to work, and we would never join, we value our privacy regarding swinging too much
