why for example does a married person playing away chose this site rather than going to an escort.... because it is free...

As someone who has been a 'working girl' in the past I can categorically say that there is no comparison with 'swinging'. That argument is flawed from the outset. No matter how you want to word it, a prostitute/escort need to take some form of consideration i.e. money to carry out their services. You effectively enter in to a contract if you think about it in legal terms.

On the other hand, for swingers there is no consideration being transferred and there is no actual contract between individuals or groups. Nothing is binding between each persons.

So, there you have my argument that the above statement is a load of frog bollocks.

The difference is in the choice - swingers here are choosing people who they like, desire, get on with - prostitutes do not have that luxury much of the time. But I raised a similar point some time ago in that if the prevalent perception of what a swinger is is based on the 'keys in the bowl' scenario, then I could see why people might think swingers will 'take whatever is on offer'.

Being someone who has been an escort no i don't feel its the same

my reasons being

when i did escort work i did it for money, so long as the guy was clean and respectful i had sex with him, it was a job and looks and age didn't matter, also he provided the hotel room etc

Ah I see your point, I read it differently! Just to clear, I had not turned this person down, so it was not born out of anger toward that, it was a statement that swingers should face up to the fact that they are nothing more than escorts/prostitutes giving it away free, and using the word swinger was a flimsy cover up, I asked the question on here as I wanted to see if any other people that class themselves as swingers agree with that line of thought, if its a common thought among swingers, or others that use this site, I can ask the same question at the pub and gauge the replys against what I get here to get my answer.
