"Thanks for your replies I was asking for other site users thoughts on this as the health promotion team I work for has just launched this service in dogging/cruising areas. Obviously we inform people about 'the window period' and also encourage them to go to the GU clinic for a full screening afterwards. Some people we meet have never attended a GU clinic (for various reasons...) and I think offering this service perhaps will make people more aware about looking after their sexual health - even if they choose not to test with us. J" Sounds like a good initiative and if it at least captures some at risk individuals that can only be a good thing A friend of mine worked for a sexual health charity 20 or so years ago taking condoms to known dogging and gay cruising areas and used to get a lot of abuse mainly because they were targeting men who have sex with men...and this was in the very dark days of HIV...many of them refused to acknowledge that they were in a high risk category...and many refused the free condoms and screening offered...I really hope we've moved on from those days but I remain unconvinced on many levels

We also did the outreach into clubs, cottages and other known meeting places. Hard work but hopefully the work we did back then helped to keep the HIV numbers relatively low in this country. OP, I think it's worth trying and, as you know, you might need to go back a few times before people trust you enough to take up the offer.

"HI Just wondered if any Fab users have ever used rapid HIV testing services in swinging clubs/dogging sites? What are your thoughts on this? J" Hadn't read your profile. I think it would be a great idea for the types of people that wouldn't normally go to a clinic. Sexual health information is very important. Good luck.
