I have a regular meet who has been to my home several times --- he has only ever been in the bedroom and bathroom

he does not know my real name only my address

now he has popped up on my facebook with a friends request

could he have found out my real name from just knowing my address?

He might have seen letters about your house, lot's of personal information there he might have seen I guess.

I've been presented with 'people I know ' on mine. I'm assuming it's all linked in with phone numbers. Gotta be careful with smartphones these days.

you can find people on fb with just a first name and current location. depending on their privacy settings

There are tons of ways he can find out your name loads of internet searches display electoral register results by address so he could have found it through that. Although the most likely event is that he's seen something in your house.

To be fair if you want to keep your identity a secret inviting someone to the place where you actually live is not the smartest idea!

"You have just invaded my privacy which I do not like. It was nice meeting you but I am not going to be meeting you again."

and block and move on.

Even without facebook, it's easy to get all that info if you know how.

My favourite trick, when irritated by a nuisance/bogus sales phone call to my company, is to try to have an email with an attached google sat photo of the caller's house in his inbox before the end of the call - it's quite amazing how their tone changes when they realise I know exactly who and where they are.

As people above have said it is most likely your phone number and email address that's brought him to your attention via fb not him snopping around your house mail. Im sure you can block him.

I deleted my Facebook account because people kept popping up from my past who I just don't want to accotiate with anymore, better that than. She's any offence

That happened to a female workmate, she went away without her husband. Copped off with a bloke two nights running only told him her first name, when she gets back he has added her to facebook.

I go by a pseudonym on FB anyway. The account is not connected in any way to my new hobby of swinging, but I have a dark and filthy sense of humour and like to remain ungoggleable, so a pseudonym is the best for me to remain as an internet ninja
