a woman may be into all manner of things though. If she mentioned something you didn't like would it put you off her? Would you say oh great,I love anal,if she liked it,but be disappointed if she wasn't into it with you?

Nope, but in my head that's not what I mean. I'm not looking for a checklist. If someone came back to me then I'd read but it's not the answer I'm looking for.

If someone asks me that question I talk about my mood. In particular I use it with couples who get in touch, as I want to know what kind of role they want me to take.

I have a very wide ranging imagination that isn't for everyone, so it's useful to know. Not everyone wants to be choked with a belt from behind and beaten. Sometimes it's more about sensual sex, bondage or just a quick hard bit of stress relief!

In defence of this question, when you see a profile with the words "will fill in later" or "Come on boys, lets have fun" then it's a valid question.

Also, some people here don't know what they want, too shy in saying or not honest about their desires.

I'm not a massive fan of the question but I see why people use it.

Maybe it's because people have different sexual preferences. Example a guy may say he fancies you, wants to get with you and would love to have sex done outdoors as it's a massive turn on for them. But it maybe not your thing. Same goes for being a dom and a sub. You may like being one and not the other and the guy maybe the opposite. Sometimes it's best to get these things out of the way to save people's time.

to this. I have no issue with someone asking me what I'm into socially or sexually after we've exchanged a few messages and have established some mutual attraction. As a first message it gets on my tits. Not in a good way.

This... I struggle to answer the question because I haven't got a set list of likes and dislikes, plus it depends on how well I know them and how much I trust them for the kinkier interests. There is also the worry that I'll scare some of em off!

My wife absolutely HATES this question!!! She gets asked that about a dozen times a day. She usually screams at the computer "Read our damned profile!!!"

If its asking about things not in the profile text, what is the problem?

A lot of people (like us) are looking for a regular person near to where they live, & for that to happen, you need to have some sort of friendship. Without knowing what people like & dislike, or are interested in, how would you know if that person is even compatible as a friend. For example, with us liking our rock music & sci-fi & action films, I doubt we will get on with someone that well if they are INTO opera, classical music & art galleries. Is every single conversation to be about sex, even at a 1st meet? I really see no problem in asking what people are INTO.
