talking to a fellow profiler yesterday about how our profiles have evolved from when we first joined, partially through experience, partially through need and I commented that mine used to be a very sweet 'free for all' type profile and I used to get horrendous pm's, so necessity lead to me writing a profile that sounds almost clinical and out of character in an attempt to improve the pm's I received.

This has, in the most, worked. I find the guys that do pm me are the genuine ones and dont mind getting to know a girl first and don't expect to get some just because we're talking

However, on the threads, women are still chastised for this kind of profile.

Understanding profiles are purely personal and we can write what we damn well want, how does your profile work for you and what attracts/repels you from a profile?

....and why is it that by being more strict, I'm getting better pm's?!

Well mine isnt strict but it says what im about and what im looking for. I still get some idiots messaging me who dont read profile but i get lots of decent messages from guys complimenting me on my profile

men like it when you're strict

mine needs a major re write but i cant seem to find a balance between who i am and trying to set the picture etc, i dont want a 'fierce' profile with a list of donts and moans etc

my profile is a reflection of me.... and thats it toned down a bit lol!! it has cut down on the amount of one liner messages a bit thankfully!!

i was the same as the op when i first joined, but as time has went on its evolved as i have in regards to who i meet and who i reply to x

I think they should have a terms of contract when u join FS.Stating exactly that. Even though it is a swinging site woman don't want to be harrassed with instant msg that pertain to quick meets unless an option in the female profile was added to let guys know. And if any abusive mails happen they automatically get banned. Whether that would work or even be wanted.
