escorts vs prostitutes

I am interested in hearing the _iews of people here regarding the use of escorts – to be clear, I’m talking about escorts offering incalls/outcalls etc rather than prostitutes who (often through misfortune) basically sell themselves on street corners without any real protection/safety either for them or their clients.

I agree with legalisation and taxing, this will also mean that the environments for this kind of business would be safer. Now, not sure whether it was intentional or not, but I'm not so sure that sex for money should always be associated with a drug habit, as it often is.

I believe it is legal, as long as the prostitute/escort is not being forced in anyway (it is illegal if she is being forced whether you know about it or not).

Brothel's however are illegal, which make sense in some ways, trying to stop organised trafficking etc., but means that the ladies (or men) can't work together for their own security and safety without breaking the law.

I can't see anything wrong with prostitution, strip clubs, etc. For me it's just like gambling...my mates love it...but I just can't do it...something in me gets totally blocked and at that point where others are having lots of fun...I just can't. I just can't buy into the fantasy of either. I certainly wouldn't look down on anyone who could. And I do feel that both can have an important role for those types of people who can buy into the fun of it.

Personally I'm quite content with being allergic to gambling and mixing money and sex...it works for me so I can't really be bothered to change it

As for the prostitutes, escorts, and strippers themselves... they're just like any professionals...they deserve a certain amount of respect and protection by the law imo. They're not doing anything wrong...they're just trying to make a living using whatever assets and talents they've got at their disposal...just like the rest of us
