Why do people assume that because you message someone it's a given you want to meet them?

No, I want to see what they look like first as a single guy you have to send a lot if messages, doesn't mean you want to meet them all,

Experience has taught us that the majority of people who message us want to meet. They might start off by making an enquiry about something I've written in the forums or saying something seemingly unconnected with meeting but that is what they are leading up to. The exceptions to this are several very nice people who live miles away and just chat now and again and the guys who wait until their wives are out and try to find out explicit details of what we get up to while deleting every message we send as soon as they've read it

Its something that drives me a little insane sometimes and actually prevents me from doing the polite thing and responding to certain messages

Perhaps you could be more specific in your message about what you really want and that way there is less chance of an assumption being made

If you were just messaging them for a chat etc and didn't care what they looked like because you only wanted to be friends then I would understand your OP.
