I like my first impression to be of a person who is behaving naturally and not how they think I want them to be

yeah, but be honest we all just a little bit concerned about how we're perceived, its human nature, is it not?

"Cocky and chatty or reserved but interested?"

I take it you didn't get the info you needed from your 'proper gent or cheeky fella?' thread then....

yes it is but why would you want to appear in a way that isn't true to your nature?

I can understand that if you're in a foul mood you might want to conceal that and I tend to try and keep my weirdness under wraps for as long as possible but generally I try and present a pretty accurate picture of myself as a first impression minus the massive flaws of course

"people are complex though aren't they don't you think?"

I think that mostly people want to be liked and that nearly everyone has something in their past that makes them behave in a way that seems odd to other people.

You're bang on, you gotta be true to yourself, no matter what but modern life dictates many people are so quick to judge (and often wrongly) to make a sacrificial lamb for their own self esteem at times .. that is I guess what makes people pre-empt their persona .. don't you think?

I have found all my life that people have been quick to judge and I now realise that they will have formed an opinion of me based on my clothes, hair etc before even speaking to me. We all do it of course

I know within the first 10 seconds of seeing a guy if I would sleep with him or not. No amount of chit chat can change that first impression!

yes I would reckon that I can tell in a fairly short period of time but some chit chat can make me change my mind from wanting to have sex with them to not wanting to
