"what is amp or what does it stand for.?"

It has a few means online,

It originates from an Asian language called Tagalong, specifically "ang puta" which means "the bitch".

When "ang puta" is spoken quickly but native speakers of Tagalong it sounds a lot like "ampotah" which itself has been shortened to "amp" when usued in Tagalong "text speak"

So "amp" in a text message refers to a petson being "a bitch"

From there it go associated with the sex industry, specifically whore houses or "Asian Massage Parlours" AKA as AMP's as the girls who work in such places are generically known as "bitches"

From there it became a code frase on sex sites like Fabswingers for someone willing to accept cash for sexual services. Much in the way "420" is code for people who smoke .

Therefore, if you see "amp" on someones profile it's a safe bet to assume they'll be happy for you to hire them for their "services"...

Or, they have it there unknowingly thinking it's trendy or something.. but I doubt that very much..

There's your answer, you're welcome

"what is amp or what does it stand for.?"

It stands for ampersand.....the "and" symbol. If you are on mobile site on phone etc that's what shows up instead.

"Irish gent is talking through his bum btw!"

Says he who genuinely doesn't have a clue.

I research things that interest me, his question interested me, so I researched it.

My search took my to websites that were the equivalent of Fabswingers, and message boards etc in the Philipines. Also to many other sites in America and Australia.

I have a factual mind and take an interest in factual matters. Therefore, my post it true and accurate, here's some Tagalog for you... Shut up ka ignorante tanga ng isang tao. You're welcome

If this was indeed a Tagalog site then your point is valid.....here in uk though it is simply that when you type & in your profile intro or status etc then it comes out as "amp amp". It is just a glitch and no more.....simples.

And it's still used on English sites as an indication of ones willingness to accept payment for their "services" as I've posted above and for the same reasons above.

It may be a glitch but it's still true.
