Who finds dreadlocks attractive on either sex?

I want them but I'm gonna be a bridesmaid in September so I don't think my sister would appreciate me in a lovely bridesmaid dress with dreadlocks lol

was gonna say the same unfortunately . Sorry but on white people it just looks dirty. I think it's because your hair isn't naturally curly so getting the strands of hair to join together to form "roots" is harder.

It's a huge misconception that dreadlocks can't be washed. I know there are people with dreadlocks who don't wash them and yes they're smelly but the ones I know and love always smell lovely

this is what I meant for black people we can wash maintain the hair naturally without fear of it loosening . None of my friends with themhave ssmelly hair actually its harder to do with dirty hair.

Afro Caribbean hair isn't just curly, the shape of the hair folicles are different. It grows slowly compared to Caucasian hair, and is a different texture.

For example,

Caucasian hair has 4-7 layers of cucticle scales and the cortex runs evenly through the hair.

Afro Caribbean has 7-11 has 2 different types of cortex due to the curl.

Hence why dreads on a white person look messy, and can smell as you will struggle to keep them clean.

ive worked with a couple of people with dreads and they were never smelly - my hair i think would go into dreadlocks easily - used to have a twirly bit at the front that i had to unroll as it looked odd even amongst the curls

Dread head do a fantastic range of products. You can get product for Caucasian hair to help mattify the hair to prevent them from loosening.

Most of its dead hair and lots of peeps that have don't wash em. I used to be matey with a black guy he used to put a bag on his at night because all the oil in em ruined his pillows

Just no. Dreads look god awful on Caucasian peeps IMHO. Not vastly keen on them on Afro Caribbean hair either - big clumps of matted hair aren't attractive to me.

I'm personally not a fan of dreadlocks, its a bit grungy looking for me and that isnt my type of style. I think that black people suit them and dreadlocks seem to look better controlled and neater than it does on white people.

iv had my dreads for about 3 years now, i was them regularly and they are probably cleaner than lots of other peoples hair because if it.

they do get a little untidy if you dont keep on top of them but as far as im concerned thats part of the locksperience.

just because something is a little different to what you are used to or is a bit scruffy doesnt mean its dirty and disgusting

No time for dirty smelly dreads! Had mine for 14 years now, clean as a whistle with a hint of herbal essence haha!

Its up to the individual to keep them tidy and clean, it does take effort but worth it as long as you don;t want to look like 'Swampy'!!
