When I was about 17 I did some gardening work for an older couple (mid 50s) and they introduced me to it, I had a GF at the time and she got into it too. I had my first 3sum with the husband and wife and a 4sum with my GF and them. Never looked back really.

I became interested unknowingly while at school.

Not sure how typical this is, but basically from day one of getting together. We have always (at the appropriate time) been open about discussing sex and fantasies.
