The land of grey peas and bacon

I've found with grief that time is a great healer...you truly never get over it but you learn to live with it..it can be overwhelming at times but it does get easier....if you are finding it hard to cope with you might need a little help...such as a bereavement councillor..losing a child is the biggest loss....hope things get better...big hugs

No idea, I'm lost. Damn Sat nav!

I lost my brother Three years ago unexpectedly and I think when someone dies suddenly like that's it's something you never get over, but just something you learn to deal with and although you will always miss then I do believe time is a healer and you do manage to cope somehow....(((big hugs)))

twelve years is a long time .. id guess the pain you feel wont lessen much .. but embrace how good it was while they were with you because the sheer fact of the pain is the refection of your joy while they were alive

I'm sorry for your loss. Time is a great healer but you might want to consider the advice already given of talking to a counselling. Talking about it to someone might help you come to terms with your grief. It'll never go away but I'm not sure anyone would want it too, however making the pain more bearable would be easier to cope. Good luck.

The pain of loss never goes away..we just learn to deal with it in our own ways.. I was very very close to my dad when he passed in Jan 2000 and there's still not a day goes by that I don't think about him or even talk to him... His body may not be with us anymore but his spirit will always ALWAYS be alive...

Look after yourself my friend..

The pain never goes - but you learn to live with it.

Most days it's in the background - but from time to time you remember and the empty, desolate, painful tears come back...

And when it's a loved one, a life partner who's taken, you are suddenly left alone - you haven't fallen out of love, they are just gone, torn away, and you are left with this huge gap that nothing else will ever fill...

I hope that your pain diminishes - sending best wishes to anybody who has lost....

I can't even begin to imagine what you are feeling or going through/have been through. I'd rather die first than see any of my family or close friends die. You are stronger than you think you are and I'm sorry of you're loss.

Keep your chin up. Try not to think about it too much. Easier said than done i know. But, i know what your going through. I've lost many who've been close to me and now it seems as though i'm just on my own. You just have to keep your head up. And take each day as it comes.

...at least we have the memories to hold on to. No need to necessarily look back at what happened. But, cherish those moments you had together and look ahead. What's happened is in the past. You got to take a deep breath and brace the future.

Bromance time.

First of all sorry to hear of your loss mate, and believe me l think its good to have a good cry as l think its a build up of the pain you are feeling.

Personally l do think it does get easier as time goes by but obviously you will never forget or wouldn't want to. I lost my partner in 2010 she was only 34,

Also my mother in 2003 and still after all this time l cry on a regular basis as l miss them so much, but l find it easier to talk about when and if it comes up in conversation. So be strong mate l like to think they are looking down on me and maybe yours are doing the same! Hug for ya mate.

"thank you guys thanks for your lovely support"

I lost my son 18 years ago and my mum 6 years ago. The pain and heartache are always there. But you learn to cope with it. Get some help as well its good to talk and cry. I find a good cry does help. Just remember your love for them will always be there and enjoy your memories of happier times when you were together. Thinking of you. Big hugs xxxx

My point of _iew. It depends on the actual circumstances. You will always think of them and f you can think of them without thinking of the accident. The pain won't seem as bad. Although you won't get over it. Time helps massively though and talking about it and letting all your emotions out is healthier for you mentally and physically. Not to mention it's part of the grieving process. So sorry to hear about your loss though

I have personally found that there are still moments of great pain. Holidays and birthdays and such, but its bittersweet because its good to remember in my opinion. Chin up and think back in fondness and know that those who have passed would want us to be happy now. Honour them by living as happy a life as you can.

hi, I lost my husband 2 years ago after 43 years of marriage. It does get easier, never goes away no matter how much you move on.

I'm a spiritualist medium and they are only a thought away.

they loved you very much as you did them and that love will never die.

please talk to them, they are still there helping you in everything you do.

Do not be afraid to cry, tears help wash the pain away.

good luck to you my friend xx
