Hi, i dont usually post in here but just had an experience i wanted to share.

Was chatting to a woman and just exchanged numbers then i happened to mention i had kids and she dropped me like a stone.

Now im not bothered, i just found it really odd. Its not as if my kids would b meeting her...

Anyway, i was rather shocked by this response/attitude and wondered if anyone else had this from women -- ??

The majority of people of a certain age on here have children,if that really is the reason she didn't want to take it any further with you then shes going to be doing the same with a huge number of people on here

hmm hate is s strong word, how do you infer that she hates children from the fact that she dropped you? Did she say that was why?

yes, im positive.

she even confirmed it to me.

I said 'you just gave me your number' and she said 'that was before you mentioned kids'.

Having kids makes no difference unless she wants you at her beck and call which obviously can't happen when you have kids But you would wanna do that anyway kids or not

I'm surprized by her reaction at just the mention of your kids. As has been said already, there's a good chance people over a certain age have kids and possibly grandchildren. It natural to talk about them.

I was playing with a couple once and he would not stop talking about his grandchildren who had visited them earlier. It totally killed it for me and I rather embarrassingly left!

I think it all depends on the level and intensity regarding any conversation.

Might it be because she thinks that, as you'll have demands on your time with contact visits, organising meets with her might be tricky? Selfish but possibly one explanation.

A very strange attitude to have I must say. I don't have children myslef but at my age I kind of expect most of the men I meet to have some. It usually comes up in conversation at one point or another but it's never put me off meeting a man.

I do agree with another poster though that hate might be a strong word to use OP unless she actually used that word.

TBH i didn't think it relevant - i wasnt looking for a mother figure... just some fun.

I appreciate this is not the general view, so this is why i posted originally. I was as surprised as some of you are.

I wouldn't either...unless said kids were going to be tucked up in bed when I was paying a visit. I'm not saying this is the case here, but if she suspected they might be then I can understand her change of heart.

met loads of guys with kids ...it doesnt bother me at all ...ive even met some guys kids as well for days out ...no funny business obviously ...everyone is different i guess ...there will be other ladies for which it wont be an issue !

i have met men who said they have kids, of different ages. could it be that, she thought you shouldnt be on here if you have kids or that you might possibly be neglecting them if you met her, i dont see that she is a child hater

I agree. I don't know why having kids would be a deal breaker, unless she wanted more from this than just "fun".

It doesn't make you a social misfit. In fact, if she feels that strongly, she should mention in her profile, that she won't meet guys with kids.

At 33 which you give as your age it's quite normal for people for people to have kids. I was fairly late into the game of having them at the age of 34, anyone who reacted badly to that fact is surely a bit strange.
