Party etiquette (first timer!)

Going to my first private party tomorrow, alone! I have met two of the couples going so there will be a few familiar faces but don't know anyone else on the list, just wanted to know if the etiquette is similar to clubs and the environment? Don't want to be stood or sat on my own all night but I can get a bit shy when in a busy social environment, just wondered if anyone had any tips for me or if anybody's going to Mr Bays party tomorrow night? Bit nervous but I wanted to attend my first party on my own so I'm not complaining but I've only ever attended clubs cos I'm meeting someone there, so to walk in to a place not knowing anybody is proving to be a bit daunting!

They've both told me when they'll be getting there for but I haven't asked to meet them no, I don't really want them thinking they have to look after me if you know what I mean? Look after or stay with me even! Think I'm just being a wimp, just not great at approaching people so hoping they'll approach me instead! There's loads on the guest list so I'm bound to converse with someone and hit it off, just nervous!

I'm just not the most confident person and very self conscious so being in a big social event like that and not knowing anyone other than 4 people is making me nervous! I shall take your advice of taking a deep breath, not sure about holding my head up high but I'll get em if they approach me!!! Haha!

Thanks for the advice honey, I have a lot of respect for men and women that do this on their own cos it takes a lot of courage (I definitely know that now!) Only been to clubs when I've arranged meets there so although I'm a single woman, I've never been to clubs or parties by myself...just hotels and houses! Which to me is different as it's more of an intimate atmosphere!
