Maybe it's just me but it really annoys me that some men think they can use their job/profession to get women to have sex with them. I have had a number of men in the fire service, police and doctors who think I will be impressed enough by their job to drop my knickers.

I know if my employer was informed that I was doing similar I would be dismissed for bringing my profession into disrepute.

Agreed! I rarely tell people what I do here for that same reason.

The number of "I'm a fireman/marine/in the army" messages I've had are unreal!

Men can have a hard time getting meets on here. I suppose they do what they think will give them an advantage.

I'm only interested in the person - I switch off completely if they try to impress me with their job or position...

And as for that awful phrase that some use - "I'm a professional man" - well to me, a professional man on a swinger site means a male prostitute who expects to be paid.... Er - No Thanks...!!!

To be fair there are professions for whom simply being on here would get you fired if they found out. Fortunately as the boss and only employee I don't have that problem though I wouldn't want all and sundry knowing my business.

Not sure about that. It's not illegal to look for sex with other people, I think any employer who did that would be on very dodgy ground. I would imagine though it would be at least a disciplinary offence in the fire service to message women with such phrases as "I have a fireman's pole you can slide down!" Etc.

had a kitten stuck up a tree, got up there using claws but was to small to reach branches.

Firemen refused to come out, they said due to 'health & safety' reasons. Perhaps they were too busy on here.

Tree was 30ft+ fire tree, in the end I climbed it, put the kitten in my coat and climbed down ... We were both scared.

Like colour, cock size, body shape and age etc it's just a preference ... shouldn't matter but it does for some.

I have a professional career but prefer not to meet people in the same field as they also have a tendency to be first class arrogant twats

No it wouldn't..

what would be an issue would be someone wearing uniform which shows the id of the actual brigade, being their 'corporate image etc' that would be deemed a breach of the discipline code..

all types of folks in all types of professions dally in this aspect, as long as they are not embarrassing the said direct employer on a grand scale then hey ho..

unlikely that the 'firemen' (btw there have been women in the fire service for over 30 yrs now doing a professional job)would have refused to attend, all calls are answered by a control room..

still doubt they would have simply said no as a call to a cat up a tree is deemed to fall under 'humanitarian service'..

whether the attending crew would depend on the situation, putting a persons life at risk for a cat which will come down when hungry is another debate perhaps..

you wont find a skeleton of a cat up a tree or on a roof..

Yes I agree. This isn't "real" life the normal rules don't apply and it's every (fire) man for himself. I've seen threads extolling the virtues of marines, fire men etc. so it's no surprise that men will use that to their advantage. The fire service often attend my work place and the ribald comments from some of the women would make a serving officer blush

"On one site late one night a whole watch of firemen were online watching the cams in one of the chat rooms. What they do in there own time is ok, but not sure doing it on duty is a good thing or very wise?

Ah right, so it's ok to sit around the tv or on iPads or phones till there's a shout but not go on fab chat rooms ... What's the difference ... Will it take longer to respond to a shout with a hardon!!! Eh no, the bell or the pager goes off and it's straight into professional mode ... Seen things that most here could not even contemplate so dont knock the guys, or girls when they have some time to spare .

When I am at work if things are quiet I don't sit and watch porn I would get sacked. I clean, I tidy, I find something to do work wise because the British public are paying my salary. "

Understandable but when you do that day in and day out between shout and additional ongoing training ther is not a lot to do... Well could attend to every stray cat up trees instead and take longer to repond to a REAL emergency where you may be trapped in your car/ bike/bus/lorry and you don't see crews saying " oh my shift is over" dropping everything and going home. No harm in it and if they use their own devices and not public systems or networks what's the harm... How many threads have you seen on here about people browsing this site at work... Don't knock the people that risk themselves to help the public.

Erm how do you know this lady doesn't risk herself serving the public . I think you might just have proved her point about exploiting your profession though, you can't use it to justify behaviour in my opinion. I personally have no issue with fire service personnel looking at fab between call outs but I do have an issue with them justifying it by saying that they deserve it beacuse of what they do.

I didn't slag anyone off (yeah I spose I did call the gun toter a twat) I just feel it isn't professional to use your job as bait for pussy and most employers and professional bodies would see it that way too. You don't mind someone earning £20 an hour to peruse porn at the publics expense and that's your opinion and you are entitled to it. My opinion is different to yours and I am entitled to that.

I do actually but I'm not going to talk about it on a public forum, oops I just did!.

Actually if you read it carefully it does not state what I do for a profession... You assume that... So all those who profess to be in the jobs that you find to be I impressive and like to slag off, may not actually be doing them... That may just be using it to try to make themselves out to be better than they are... Trust me ... There are lots on here hiding behind facades... You have your opinion on the subject and I have mine. So would somebody slag off our male and female troops in war zones when they have time off for being on here ... Or paramedics on a break... The list is endless. This site is full of diverse people and opinions... The OP is not interested in uniforms probably the same as a vegan would not be interested in a butcher... There's plenty more on the site that may take their interest, bout 17,000 !! And as one poster on the thread stated that there are plenty who do like uniforms etc

While you may not have directly said what you do, you did claim to have seen things most people can't imagine while also continually telling us all how amazing firefighters are. I think the implication of that statement in that context is quite clear."

Indeed and considering they attend far more sudden deaths (as do paramedics, police, undertakers) than any fireman you may want to avoid steering the thread in that direction in case too many people realise that firemen aren't the only heroes on here.

But you are ignoring the context of the post I refer to, and indeed many other references you have posted that make the implication clear.

That certainly is the case and it may be an implication to you but if you read the OP her gripe was with people who use it as a tool to try and attract meets... I could with some study profess to be a member of the SAS by reading lots of Chris Ryan books and attempting to organise meets on the back of that but I don't. What I did do was give another opinion rather than the conversation being totally one sided and slagging off the uniformed professions.

How I see it is, some people use uniform as bait some use tits, cocks, bums, lingerie, muscles etc etc. The bottom line is women fawn over uniforms (not me personally), so men use it to their advantage. Same as non-uniformed professional men in suits. It's all just for more attraction

2 points, its totally not 'all right' to have crews in any part of a station sat using I-pads or phones to access the net, its unprofessional and in my experience will end up with someone seeing something they shouldn't have to in a public building whilst they are at work, or a visitor..

if someone needs to have a phone for a domestic issue then that's fine, but without common sense gui_elines then brigade disciplinary will in time be involved..

most brigades are pretty clear on it and its for good reason..

I had a few female friends who were always interested in men in uniform, namely army. One in particular, was looking for a bit more, than sex, so she was batting back and forth emails, pics etc, getting filthy etc...then the guy would suddenly stop. Then a different uniform from the same place..same regiment would email her...and she was none the wiser, she's possibly been passed around like some cyberwhore ...

I gave up giving her advice to be honest...it helps to understand how most men think...

especially when a male dominated workforce all share the same vicinity

technically all areas of the station are accessible by members of the public an in an case its also about mitigation of someone _eliberately or 'accidentally' breaching the dignity at work policy..

brigades, frs, fire and emergency planning authority after many yrs and several corporate re brandings brigade will do for this old dinosaur..

common sense, some people and access to porn in a work place may lead to a trip to the big house in undress, final written warning..

easier to manage staff by not giving the opportunity, just an opinion based on experience..

Ah ok so I'm sure that most stations are well used to local tourist trips passing through as the councillors and esteemed members of the fire board try to get in as well... It's the same as going to your local police station army base or ambulance station... There are public areas and private areas and you don't have a god given right to enter them just because you pay your taxes. Go try that one at your local Nick and see how far you get!

People will use the net as they like whether for social media or keeping in touch... It is whether you like it or not down to common sense and a common sense approach the same as I would not expect to see someone in the fetching black and orange of the b&q uniform browsing on here at the tool aisle.

It's your opinion and I have my opinion as will everybody else here. Just be thankful we have the ability to express our opinions.

I do not see what the problem is with anyone using anything on here to get above the 1000's of other people all buying for the same thing.

How many times do we see threads where people are asking for advice on their profile and how many times do we see the same old thing, "stand out! its your profile you should use it to make yourself stand out! you need to make your self different to the next person!! etc etc" and here we are someone says that they do not like people trying to stand out, well thats fine you do not like a guy in uniform or even a guy trying to stand out then fine read block _elete and move on its so simple.

People might think if the give the impression of what they do for a living it will make the other person think mmm firemen soldier police mmm fit guys, I like a bit of fit.

Just like everthing else on here you will never please all the people but I can bet my last pound that there will be people on here that love a soldier a fireman etc etc. its called preference and if its not for you then greta move on its not a crime to use your profession to try and stand out from the rest.

When looking for sexual partners tits, cocks and bums are relevant because they form part of our sexual make up. Our work doesn't really have the same connotation as cock size etc?

I have an opinion on many things. I didn't realise I was restricted to only sharing one of your choice.

Generally speaking guys don't message women because they think they are 'special'.... if you find that too personal, then I can understand why other things seem to annoy you.

If something has worked for a guy in the past... or for one of their mates... or women have given the impression it will work (see numerous threads started by women drooling over the thought of imaginary generic men in uniforms/suits) I am not surprised if they try it on mass.

It doesn't work for me, but the _elete button seems simple enough to operate.
