Had a lifetime of being openly hated for what I am (gay) - mostly by zealous bigots who are convinced that "prayer will cure me..", or who are just downright hostile....

But I couldn't live with being loved for something that I'm not - above all, love has to be honest and truthful.. even if that also hurts sometimes....
