Random friend requests

Now I know everyone uses this site in their own way which is cool! But I can't get my head around the random friend requests. I'd understand if it was just one or two every so often but I get around 10 a day! (I think I may have blocked most of fab now!)

I understand its chancers and they only want to perv at your private photos but surely they must get to the point where they realise its just not working!!

Has anyone ever had a succesful meet from a random friend request?? Am I missing a trick here!!

We get lots from couples but never accept them unless we speak to them afterwards have had a few from females as well men can't send them as we have blocked them as not what we are looking for. We never mind them or winks but can understand how annoying it must be if you get lots.

They wouldn't walk up to a stranger in the street and say "you are my friend" so don't know why they do it on here with random friend requests, clues in the name genius!

Newbury / London

It baffles us too, defies 'normal' logic.

Depends on my mood but I will sometimes mail and ask why they've sent it. It says on my profile that I think random friends requests are rude.

I find that most who send them have no pics of their own and no profile either.

I sometimes send a message too... Nine times out of ten they just delete and block me! Haha!! Saves me a job!

I don't find it fustrating as such... Its their time their wasting not mine, as its been said its just baffling!! And its not just newbie guys either, its couples with lots of veris! If I accidently send one I send a message too to explain and apologise!

The sooner people realise and accept that communicating online isn't the same as face to face the happier everyone will be. Just an observation.

No but I accept that people will send them and they are easy enough to ignore...unless I want to perv at their friends only pics so I wait til they're offline accept, peek, then unfriend......unless they are amazing, then I'll message them

Why don't you ask her what she meant by that?

Maybe they just want to see more pics before bothering you with a string of emails to find out that you are not attracted to each other.

If you don't accept them, they cannot re send a friendship request until you click not to accept. I once had a couple requested friendship 10 times over one weekend, if they had read my status, they wouldn't have (hopefully) bothered as they were childfree but I was working. In the end though I blocked them until I had a cull and removed them, not had a request from them since then

Brighton - even Hove!

I don't accept them unless they've sent a message.

That may be true but by not sending me a message and explaining this, they never get the chance!!

We actually say on our profile that we don't like friends request sent out of the blue but still get them sent by people who obviously haven't been bothered to read our profile. Although we are happy to exchange facial pics, we never add anyone as a friend until after we've met and know we'd be happy enough to meet again and really become friends. We've found this works for us, it does offend some people but we're not changing our ways.

No we've never met anyone from a random friends request because we don't accept them, we just leave them so they can't request again. As we have it on our profile that we don't accept random requests it's a way of identifying those that haven't read the profile.
